Watch this if you're wondering about the issues with the AI:

So if I understand well, if I'm on 85 AI difficulty on 1.07 I need to decrease at 80 on 1.08 .... This is very strange, because if the patch make AI slower on the straight it is not logic to decrease the difficulty level ????

We need auto gear fix now.
- BadMayh3m3 years agoSeasoned Ace@fu5u646feayv The funny thing is if your running ERS they dont stick and if you run out in a lap they stick again......weird!
- 3 years ago@Juju_59320 Just the opposite.
AI got slowed down by about 0.5 sec per lap, now that the bug was fixed.
If your difficulty setting was balanced around entire lap times, at 85 you will now be about 0.5 sec faster than the AI.
You need to speed up the AI by +5 to 90 difficulty to bring them back to the same lap times.
Seemed pretty good to me today. - 3 years ago
In MyTeam this patch actually fixed the issue. You can't imagine the happiness I felt when I was finally able to catch up and overtake a car with DRS.
But as TJPuhley wrote you need to raise the difficult by 5 points. I unfortunately rage quitted SPA before the patch when an Alpine left me in the dirt(11th place) while I had DRS and ERS and Slipstream. When I continued with the new patch I was not able change the difficulty before race and I won it even though I changed my front wing. I changed the difficulty after and the following races felt really good. My car is 3-5 in Vehicle comparison and I placed between 8th and 3rd.

The Patch notes were a little confusing. It says something along the lines of the difficulty of the AI decreases by 5 points. But that means they get 5 points worse, so you need to increase by 5 points.
I see a lot of discussion on the AI straight line speed. I've only had a very small sample size of laps on 1.08, but I think it's worlds different than pre-patch specific to how fast the AI used to come out of slow corners, and I did not see that at all in the few laps I ran on 1.08. - AEF2513 years agoSeasoned Veteran
So the way I play is with all assists but steering, ERS, and DRS. Up to and including 1.06 my AI was 60 at all tracks but qualifying at Singapore. When 1.07 came I had to drop the AI to 50. Based on my qualy and race times this morning, the AI at Silverstone needs to be Around 70.
But it is hard to figure it out. I used to use GP mode to set the AI but now I no that seems uncoupled.
- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend@AEF251 If you playing career or my team. Find a ai driver with a pace off 85+ Ideally from the team your in if not. A team closest to you in performance rankings. Then during one off the practice sessions go to race director and look at his times whilst using mediums. For every second your faster/slower increase/decrease ai by 10. It won’t be perfect but should put you in the area you need to be. Then just fine tune ai by a couple to make it easier or harder.
I can’t be sure this year because off the problems with the ai. But 1 second = 10 ai in last years game.
I would always have lando or button as a team mate in my team last year and would always qualifying within half a second off eachother and finish race within a few seconds off eachother. - P4st3l1ak3 years agoSeasoned Ace

However, I am not sure if they already fixed it, it didn't worked last time I checked. And I must admit, that was before 1.08 and I haven't played the game since the latest patch was released.
- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend@P4st3l1ak You can see them. Go to race director. Go to your driver once you bring up your lap times you can then cycle through each driver. It’s R1/L1 on ps5 so whatever buttons you use as equivalent on your pad/wheel

Not sure if patch related but my My Team save was corrupted on XBox One and could not be loaded.
- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend@AEF251 If the save loaded and corrupted when you tried to go to next race weekend. You will have to reinstall game.
