Hey there,
I just did a race in Zandvoort very close to the end of the Series, and I have noticed the following things:
- First of all, and that's a huge quality of life improvement, Guanyu Zhou finally has the name written correctly. I can't believe that EA finally gave in about a design choice, but honestly, always seeing Guanyu's first name as the last name peeved me from the very beginning, so I'm glad Codemasters corrected it.
- F2 22 is here! Not that I'm super hyped about it, I mean, it should have been there since release just like in the Codemasters games, but nevertheless, I'm happy it's there. New young blood to test for a potential candidate in F1 23 My Team. 🙂
- I didn't see the new ratings yet, but it seems like there's finally someone who can beat the infamous Verstappen problem, and that is George Russell. Makes sense though, since he's a talented young driver, and he sure deserves the spot at Mercedes.
And speaking of the AI, did Codemasters weaken them a bit? I played on level 74, and come Lap 16, Verstappen weakened in terms of pace, and 8 laps later, I was able to pass Russell as well, and with a 5.5 second gap to both, I won the race in the 5th best car(EDIT: It was an illusion, as Sainz, Pérez, and both Mercedes recently wiped the floor with my McLaren in Melbourne).
However, there are some things that still require fixing desperately:
- One thing I instantly noticed during the race in Zandvoort, what the heck is happening to Lewis Hamilton? Did Codemasters give him a Pace stat of 25 or is he suffering permanent technical faults each race? I don't know what it is, but when I asked Jeff while Hamilton was in front of me, after saying what tires he's on and how old they are, one radio line was skipped, and this usually entails in a technical fault, causing him to slow down. Honestly, Hamilton needs a boost, as he got a lot out of a garbage car in real life.
- I don't know if this problem is ever going to get looked at, but the AI time simulation is still such garbage. I recently ran Qualifying in Melbourne, and Verstappen was slower in real-time, but beat me in the simulation. Thankfully, he didn't take pole. The simulation improved, that's indeed true, but it's still not perfect.
The handling is still awful. I'm just slightly on the throttle not turning too sharply, I was way clear of the curbs, and the car still spins like a drift car from Need for Speed 2015, which makes zero sense considering that the Red Bull and Mercedes cars grip extremely well in real life. I'm not mentioning Ferrari because their cars being twitchy on the rear is actually realistic(EDIT: The handling is still fine, I guess it's mostly based of the car's aero and chassis stats on top of your driving. A worse thing that needs fixing is the damage effects. While minimal damage doesn't have you change your front wing in the pits, it's still noticeable while driving, and that should not be the case here since Leclerc was the fastest guy in Silverstone with a missing end plate).
And so far, that's all there is to it. If I find more, I'll let you know, @jenny_a_m.

So another patch and still not fixed:
- AI Still to fast on corner exit in Online & GP Mode
- Second Set of Medium tyres still not allowed
- Aston Martin Still wrong shape
- Formation lap temperatures still broken
Absolutely shocking things like this still are not fixed this far after launch especially core gameplay things like tyre strategy and formation lap temperatures

VR still auto re-centers the headset after you use a flashback. So if your looking any other direction other then where you centered it to begin with then your hands / view is totally off center when you get back to racing.

Hello, I'd like to report something about the latest patch/podium pass..I've just got the FIREBALL car livery and although it looks great and I really liked it, there's a little problem - not sure if it's on purpose or if it's a glitch, but.. you just CAN'T ADD SPONSORS to it (I mean, you CAN, but they just don't show and then you can't see them) and that's just a shame..
Here's the ORIGINAL skin (so you guys know which one I'm talking about):
And here's how it looks after I applied my team/previous car colors to it - and the sponsors are already there, but just not showing up:
And just for comparison, this is my previous car livery and the sponsors can be seen - including the team logo/badge (at the tip of the nose), which sadly also does NOT appear on the pic above:
As I said, I really liked the skin, but it would look great if we could add sponsors to it and if the team badge would show up as well.
If it's a glitch, I hope it gets fixed ASAP - and if it's not a glitch, then I think it was not a good idea to prevent the livery to receive sponsors..

Cool. Guess I'll stay with f1 manager 22 then. And every other game.

My advice is
- add new tracks to career mode
- fix all the liveries
- somehow fix the bugs that are still in the game from 2020's game
and lower the price but even then i'll still chose another sim game
