EA Staff (Retired)Ok deleted all traces off game. Rebuilt database. Installed new SSD. Downloaded and reinstalled game to new SSD. Started game in Performance mode. Once I played around and set everything up. Started new my team career. Raced first 3 races at 50% on The bounce. Happy to say Everything ran like a dream.
Except Tyre selection being locked after Bahrain. Tried everything to see if I could unlock it. Through Tyre selection in the vehicle. Everyday leading up to next race. And on the proceed to weekend and before FP1. Also restartiing the game. Tried every combination off race length and qualifying options. But had no joy. Even tried changing the tyre options in settings but that did nothing.
So I’m pretty much sure it’s locked after first race.
But my teamers and career guys…. Need your help testing something. Telemetry guys you’ll love it. I will be posting a new thread shortly explaining all

So, this is the best confirmation that the tyres allocation is currently only working for Bahrain (or whatever is the players's first race of the season) and then whatever option (softer, balanced or harder) we choose gets locked and we're forced to use it throughout the rest (all of the remaining races) of the season.
I hope this was not on purpose (but even if it was) and that it can be fixed ASAP on the next patch - cheers!
@SexyBrigadeiro same for me. Locked in Saudi (Race weekend 2) to balanced tyre allocation, which is what I chose in Race weekend 1 (Bahrain).
When I saw what was in this patch I was seriously bouncing. Finally race two off my favorite tracks in my team and tyres are working again.
Planned to blast through first season. But next race is Imola and I’ve seen a few DSQ posts that happened at imola 😔

I also noticed that most of the DSQ issues that people showed happened at tracks that had a Sprint Race (originally Imola, Austria and Brazil), so I was wondering if THAT is what causes the bug, but..
I've just raced at Imola (Sprint Race and all) and had no problems at all.
BUT..
I'm currently stuck with the HARDER tyres allocation since Bahrain, so here are a few other things that need to be investigated:
- If the bug ONLY happens at weekends with Sprint Races
- If it has to do with the specific tyres allocation the player is using
- If it has to do with the tyres sets the player used during the weekend, until the race (and then which sets/compounds are left for the actual race)
I'll try and report back when I reach my next Sprint Race weekend - that would be Austria - but it's gonna take a while for me to get there (my next race is Miami and as I said before, I can't play/race every day and when I can, I usually do only 1 (one) race per day, so)..
@SexyBrigadeiroInteresting. At this point providing we can choose allocation for all non sprint weekends. I’ll be ok if tyre allocations were locked to default on sprint weekends
That said. Before the patch sprint weekends were the only time we could use a full allocation off tyres.. 😂 Am not surprised even by a little bit.
