And is there any news about the tire bug hotfix? I got Brazil coming up next week, and I wanna avoid going trial and error with my tires in the main event.

No blue flags to alert drivers they are about to be lapped in either one of the career mode games
Allows you to overtake other cars and even the safety car...
Saying NO to driver swaps has NEVER worked.... drivers swaps all the time... it's never been fixed..

I saw blue flags for lapped drivers but they didn't move out of way as quickly as before 1.15. They also don't move out quickly enough when I run quick lap in quali session, they stay on racing line or in middle of track.
It felt like quali in Abu Dhabi last weekend when Vettel had to swing around almost stationary cars in last few corners of his fast lap 😉

- 3 years ago@ScarDuck14 I quoted you more on the OSQ thing, and the news on the bugfix was more a general question into the thread. 😉
- 3 years ago@P4st3l1ak One thing that one-shot qualifying can fix. Yes, it's always a roll of the dice, but you have clean air, and the worst traffic that you can have is the ghosted lead car, and even that can be deactivated. I seriously wonder why I haven't introduced OSQ into my careers sooner. I only started doing it when I was doing random five-lappers at the end of F1 2021, and previously for GP mode races. But to each their own. 😉
- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend@bundesautobahn7 It’s actually pointless doing full qualifying until tyre allocations and strategies reflect real life. Until then the Ai will just use whatever they are coded to use.
And I don’t know about this year during full qualifying.
But the top 8 drivers from the top 4 teams would qualify in top ten. So I decided one shot atleast added jeopardy to my lap. And as I don’t trust the game and how you get mechanical failures I turn them down. The Game already makes it easy to rage. Suffering mechanical failures after 2 hours of racing without putting a wheel wrong. I love my TV and Ps5. And although they are both Sony I don’t think having a ps5 embedded in the screen is what Sony was referring to with the ps5 auto sync feature 😀 - 3 years ago
@ScarDuck14I may go full jeopardy once Brazil is on in MyTeam, do OSQ, then take whatever tires the game wants me to race on in the sprint, and try hards-softs. If that fails, I'll try hards-mediums in the Merc main event.
Ben Daly, tiametmarduk, dropped a video of his co-op career where he got DSQ'd in Imola. He used the mediums in the sprint, and another set of mediums starting the main race. On the other hand, Dave Gaming (a German streamer) did not get disqualified in Brazil, so I need to look into that. But first it's Mexico City in F1 22, and my new meme career as Andrea Moda Formula in F1 2020.EDIT: Nevermind. He started the sprint on the extreme wets, so with that alone he dodged a bullet. He unfortunately quit F1 22 career mode after his first race of the new season in China.

@bundesautobahn7 I usually run full quali but in my case, it's OSQ anyway. I really suck at quali and I can count on one hand how many times I improved my first quali lap in each session in whole season 😉 But your point makes sense, it may have its advantages. AI usually improves in 2nd run so it gives me chance to get better grid positions 😉
- 3 years ago@P4st3l1ak There is that timing glitch as well, where you fast forward the session and the AI improves insanely. And that glitch exists for years in the F1 game.

It will be interesting to see if the OSQ works as a workaround. Hopefully it does as I’m itching to get back into myteam currently stuck at Brazil.
- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend@nowthenfella I’ve used balanced and harder allocations in my team and One shot: Not had any DSQ issues
- nowthenfella3 years agoSeasoned Newcomer@ScarDuck14 good to hear, is that for sprint weekends as well? Will get back involved if need be and just write off the Brazil race.
- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend@nowthenfella Yeah sorry. was ment to say no DSQ no sprint weekends. 👍
- 3 years ago@ScarDuck14 No DSQ on sprint weekends, right? Looks like autocorrect played around with your statement. And it does indeed sound like OSQ being a viable workaround.
If anyone insists on short quali or full qualifying (this is directly to online races, like league races), I strongly suggest to reset the lobby after the sprint race and rebuild it for the race, even if that means everyone gets a new fresh bunch of tires. - ScarDuck143 years agoLegend@bundesautobahn7 Just this minute finished Austria sprint weekend: One shot and harder allocation.
All good - nowthenfella3 years agoSeasoned Newcomer@ScarDuck14 Was that on a season that was started after the patch or ongoing please? My season was ongoing before the patch.
- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend@nowthenfella Was a new My team career starting as mid team After patch. Actually as it was a big patch I went nuclear: deleting the game and my save game data. Then downloaded and reinstalled the 1.15.
Anyway first season took balanced tyre application and harder for my current season. All Races are 50% distance - 3 years ago@nowthenfella So it was in my case, and I did not go nuclear and deleted my saves to start from scratch again. But check your allocation, because in my case, I was auto-assigned the harder allocation after the patch. If you have the balanced or harder allocation, then as Scarduck said, go OSQ on sprint weekends and then see what you can do.
Given what he says, I will try hards-softs for my upcoming Brazil sprint weekend (when I finish Mexico this weekend), unless I feel really lucky and try my standard mediums-softs. I already switched to OSQ because, while evidently part of a viable workaround and a roll of the dice, you get to drive in clean air which is a major plus. My races are all 25%. - jenny_a_m3 years ago

Hey all,
Firstly, thank you to all of you for sharing the information you have, especially with regards to the tyre allocation issues.
Just to give you an update, we're aiming to get fixes for mass disqualifications, tyre allocation options not being visible in already in-progress careers and being unable to change tyre allocations beyond the first weekend of a season out in the next patch.

@jenny_a_m thank you for update
please also keep us posted on progress and perhaps due date for fix 😉
- SexyBrigadeiro3 years agoSeasoned Ace@jenny_a_m Great and glad to hear that, Jenny - many thanks!

Is there any logical reason why we were not rolled back to 1.14 early doors when it was evident tyre allocation was completely broken? 1.15 has been a disaster of a patch and needed more time in Q&A(if it even exists), the amount of bugs present in this years iteration feels insane and not even just annoying bugs but gamebreakers.
F1 fans have been treated very poorly this year with both F1 22 and F1 Manager 2022 being bug filled messes, this franchise in particular needs to do much better but I've been thinking that for a long time and here we are facing the same issues year in, year out.
Codemasters/EA have no doubt benefitted greatly from the success of DTS driving up game sales, time to put that back into the game with ideally a new engine, mod support for MyTeam/Career/2 player career/LAN, etc and more customisation options at a minimum.
It's very unfortunate that F1 has not reviewed these games and sought other developers to have a crack at making a Formula 1 racing game as I'd bet my house on someone else with a smidge of passion for F1 doing far more with this great sport we love than what we've been served for the past few years especially.
The current World Champion who is a massive gamer won't touch these games with a 10 foot pole, I think that says it all on the quality of the product and also the desire to make a product he would endorse.
- 3 years ago@jenny_a_m Too bad there won't be a hotfix for the DSQ problem, I would've much rather preferred that than waiting for 1.16 or whatever the patch version will be. But it is what it is. Thank you for the update.
- 3 years ago@MaverickPabs A rollback to 1.14 is easier said than done. You'd basically have to remove the updated car models, undo the changes to F2 22, make sure than any hotfixes for 1.14 are still implemented after the rollback (because otherwise we have the possible problem of MyTeam crashing again), re-doing QA, etc.

I added some information on an experiment that I'm doing in my Brazil round in both careers in the big thread in the bug reports. Suffice it to say: using the hards in the MyTeam sprint was rather difficult, but not impossible, even if it's a waste for six laps. Oh well, even if this round is in the bin, it was an experiment worth trying considering the patch has yet to drop.
