f1 2022 crossplay between Steam and Origin on PC

If I buy F1 2022 on Steam, can I play with my friend who bought it on Origin ?

Hey everyone,

Origin and Steam will not be able to play online together. When crossplay is introduced later in development, then all platforms can play together in supported crossplay modes (Social Play and Two-Player Career modes)

@TheMalWareTM You say "whole network services aspect, including multiplayer", but in case of Battlefront 2 it was possible? Case in point: https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion/Can-Origin-and-Steam-Crossplay/td-p/9207145 EA Dice Team claims "It's not crossplay since it's both on PC". It looks that it actually is very possible to do.

@Aeghnor Battlefront 2 works through the Origin launcher on Steam and Epic Games, F1 22 doesn't. That guy is part of the community team addressing plebs, of course he's going to dumb it down to "it's both on PC", chances are he doesn't even know.
