f1 2022 crossplay between Steam and Origin on PC

If I buy F1 2022 on Steam, can I play with my friend who bought it on Origin ?

    Hey everyone, 

    Origin and Steam will not be able to play online together. When crossplay is introduced later in development, then all platforms can play together in supported crossplay modes (Social Play and Two-Player Career modes)

Please can we get some kind of timeframe. As it stands the idea of dropping £50 on an unfinished game you already own, just to be able find online lobbies and to play with friends is not an appealing one. :/

Imagine not having steam/origin play. EA is an absolute joke. Worst company honestly, shame they have the rights to most if not all sports games. Shocking, honestly.
