f1 2022 crossplay between Steam and Origin on PC

If I buy F1 2022 on Steam, can I play with my friend who bought it on Origin ?

    Hey everyone, 

    Origin and Steam will not be able to play online together. When crossplay is introduced later in development, then all platforms can play together in supported crossplay modes (Social Play and Two-Player Career modes)

Can I request for refund on my origin/EA Play version and get it on Steam instead?

I tried that, they told me to get lost, basically. 

Even after I pointed out that before ordering the game there was no indication that Steam and Origin would be anything other than PC. It just does not make sense.
