f1 2022 crossplay between Steam and Origin on PC

If I buy F1 2022 on Steam, can I play with my friend who bought it on Origin ?

    Hey everyone, 

    Origin and Steam will not be able to play online together. When crossplay is introduced later in development, then all platforms can play together in supported crossplay modes (Social Play and Two-Player Career modes)

@pawel567Kinda, why they didn’t introduce cross play for ranked as well is beyond me

    @TripppW0W Because if there’s issues, it wont affect your rank. There might be a couple of bugs / connection issues…

    I'm pretty sure the pre-launch info. was crossplay was only planned for social lobbies and 2-player career so I wouldn't expect any more personally.

    @ajobling1983 I really do understand that, but in F1 2021 this was the easiest way to get relatively full lobbies which are semi serious. I don’t really care about the rank, I just want to be able to queue up and get match made with 19 other players
