F1 2022 Overheating my Xbox Series X

For some reason, my series X keeps overheating whenever I load F1 2022. All of my other games (such as Forza, Dirt 5, Halo Infinite etc) do not cause my fan to be really loud whereas F1 2022 causes my fan to be really noisy.

I have soft reset the console, uninstalled and reinstalled the game and cleaned the fan inside the console.

Is there anything I can do to solve this issue?

  • Having exactly the same issue. The game is doing races just fine, but ramps up HARD during cutscenes which overheat the xbox and shut it off. Issue been around for 3-4 weeks now. This is repeatable, consistently, no matter the time of day or outside temperature. Only this game.

  • Quick Update.

The Patch 1.06 hasn’t fixed this issue.

I have contacted EA help multiple times via many different social media platforms.

this issue makes F1 22 unplayable for me.

  • So i believe i have found a fix to this issue

So iv experienced this also but i believe it is the graphic setting that is in QUALITY that is causing the issue iv had ny fan feel like it was going to take off then xbox power down with the overheating message upon restart

I went to the main menu on graphic settings when i noticed my fan started becoming faster again and set the graphic setting to PERFORMANCE i instantly could tell a difference fan immediately started slowing down

I believe that the GRAPHIC on QUALITY mode is putting too much strain on the GPU causing the series x go into overdrive

I hope EA actually fix this issue and not use my workaround

Been running my game on performance and it still crashes due to overheating. This isn’t a console issue as it can happen even on immediate start up. It’s making the game unbearable. Seems to only happen to me on cutscenes or loading screen where it decides to kill my console. I really hope there is a patch on the way for this as this is the only game this happens on

I have the same problem too. I tried everything but nothing works. For sure my xbox is not overheating; I assume is a problem relative to EA online services or when the game is saving since happens always on cutscenes and when a session ends...

  • Same I’ve been having this issue for a while now and I can’t even do races any more as every time a session ends it immediately “overheats”. My Xbox doesn’t even feel hot so it’s clearly only a issue with this game as I’ve not had any issues running other games. It makes the game unplayable and a waste of $70.

Quick update for you guys. After the last update I don’t seem to get the overheating issue. Still the game ramps up the fan in certain cutscenes but for the meantime it seems playable. I do recommend running this game on performance mode just to be on the safe side.

  • I have been able to resolve the issue by buying a 4k 240Hz monitor. It seems the issue was caused by me playing on a 1080p @60Hz screen. Resolved itself the second the new monitor was plugged in, not had it since. Game must be getting very confused when resolution/framerate isn't matching what the screen can do
