F1 22 - Engine Sound Thread

Downshifting and low revs sounds is always terrible in F1 games.

•Please listen carefully to the Mercedes Turbo Whine (it is only audible in low revs and or when downshifting and or when going off-throttle), as you unfortunately have NEVER been able to recreate that unique sound in any F1 game since F1 2014 - F1 2021, yet that unique Mercedes Turbo Whistle sound has always sounded the same in real life throughout the years.
Here is a great little video to showcase the unique Mercedes Turbo Whistle from 2018 (which still sounds the exact same in 2022).

•The Ferrari engine sound in 2022 sounds very reminiscent to the one of the 2018 & 2019 season, especially that Turbo Whine on up and down shifts (which you perfectly recreated in F1 2018 the game already - though F1 2019 had a much more realistic sound bundle, the pitch was unfortunately too low and incorrect; the sound of F1 2019 felt like we barely hit 10.5k rpm or 11k rpm or 11.5k rpm, when in reality the speedometer was actually showing anything between 11.5k rpm to 12k rpm).

•The Renault engine sounds like a even more aggressive version of the one in 2021, interestingly especially the gradual Turbo Whine is pretty similar to the ones witnessed in LMP racing cars, but seems to have gotten less noticeable in 2022 compared to the 2021 version. The 2022 Renault engine sound also has lots of a bass and growling in low revs.

•The Honda engine sounds less aggressive than the 2021 version, with its growling seemingly less noticeable, but still has a similar tone and pitch as well as a gradual Turbo Whine.

Hopefully the audio team of Codemasters can deliver a great product for F1 2022 and or F1 23 onwards, as in F1 2018 the game again (which, to me personally, sounded the closest to real life out of any F1 game made by Codemasters in recent years; F1 2019 could have been the best in terms of audio accuracy if the overall pitch and tone was correct, especially as the sound data / sound bundles used were very rich, accurate and detailed | F1 2014 to F1 2017 did not sound very close to real life onboard footages, whereas F1 2020 & F1 2021 were a step down to the more accurate renditions of F1 2018 & F1 2019 despite adding new layers of 3D spatial effects and a better mix and the helmet cam sound effect that indeed made the overall experience more enjoyable), and start with a big high under EA with supposedly more funds and possibilities than ever before, to give us all a thrill for the hearing senses!
There is also another problem with the Engine Sound of F1 22 (though this could possibly be related to the car handling, and more precisely the Gear Ratios, more so than with the Engine Sound and Audio itself), which also existed in F1 2020 and F1 2021 and sadly was not fixed since then for whatever reason:
The gear ratio of 8th gear seems to be way too long!
From Gear 1 to 7, whenever you upshift between 11.5k rpm and or 12k rpm, you end up roughly on around 10.4k rpm to 10.5k rpm.
But when you upshift from 7th Gear to 8th Gear, the rpm is way too low at only around 10k rpm...
This makes the highest 8th gear sound too low revving (as it is in the game), and if compared to real life onboard footages, the rpm should actually be hovering around 10.5k rpm to 10.6k rpm after each consecutive upshift from Gear 1 to Gear 8!
Please try to fix this for F1 22!!!

Other than the Mercedes having a tiny bit of a choppy downshifts, and the Hondas Turbo Whine being slightly of a lower pitch than where it actually should be, this Audio Mod is nearly perfect.
Especially that Ferrari sounds absolutely amazing!!! 😍
@issueskid13 The gearbox whine in the game seems to always stay at the same pitch, is this an intentional choice, or is there some kind of limitation?
I engage with polite people who are willing to discuss and offer constructive feedback. What I don't do is take arm chair critics comments seriously when people refer to our audio as "shit" or insist my team need sacking.
