F1 22 - Two player career Spec 3

Hey guys, I started a career with a friend, we just arrived in season 3. We started with Aston Martin, have done all car upgrades on Spec 2 and sit on 16k RP. We just won't move to spec 3. Does any1 kn ow why we're stuck on spec 2 or how to get to spec 3? This is really annoying. We just don't want to start with Mercedes, Ferrari or Renault... That's way too easy. 
We performed pretty well actually (p3 & 4 in Champiuonsship, Acclaim lvl 14 & 15, AI 90.
