Hello @schwabiczek @AVF_Worm ,
Sorry to hear you are unable to sign in to your EA account launching the game from Steam.
First, please make sure you read and follow the steps of this article as it will help you link Steam to your EA Account: https://help.ea.com/en/help/pc/link-ea-and-steam/

Hi there I’m having troubles with connecting to the online services as it is saying that I need an EA account even though I do you have an EA account
- 3 years ago
I have not been able to sign into my EA Account in F1 22. There is no option to sign in. Whenever I start the game, it tells me an account is required, with the option to retry or cancel. No matter how many times I hit retry, it doesn't work.
I have unlinked my EA account from Steam to hopefully force it to sign me in again, but even that didn't work.
So now I am stuck with an unlinked EA account that I can't seem to link again.

If you are still running into this issue, can you try logging to another EA game like Apex Legends or FIFA for exemple? When you arrive in the lobby, just quit the game and log back in F1 22 and let us know if the error comes again.

Same here it’s annoying. I’ve bought early access for a reason and can’t even play it properly.

Bought it on steam. I installed F1 22 on both my gaming PC Windows via Steam and on my steam deck running Windows thru steam. On my gaming PC, shortly after starting the game a window popped up via steam overlay asking to log in to my origin account. This steam overlay pop up window doesn't show up on my steam deck running Windows. I get the EA account is required error instead.

Same here. I can play other EA account games without issue but F1 22 says I need to change my password. EA tells me I have the wrong EA account. Well clearly not if I am using the same account to play other EA games. And neither Sony nor EA will help with a refund.

(I have the champions edition on steam) can't connect to online services on F1 22, the game is telling me repeatedly that I need an EA account (screenshot attached). what was weird was that I never got a prompt to log in to EA, and so don't actually have the option to do so even now 2 days later. I found this so confusing, as all my friends were prompted to log in immediately after launching the game for the first time, yet I wasn't? I have my steam linked to EA, but it just doesn't seem to recognize it and so won't allow me to access anything online which is so annoying considering i spent an excess to recieve the game early and of course cannot do so. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and i can list what has been tried so far (from the top of my head:
-clear origin and steam caches
- Uninstall and reinstall F1
- install other EA game (apex legends) to try and link account?
- 3 years ago@JRWMundy funny. Steam has a rule. Only one origin account to one steam account. So, you can bought any other old origin game in steam and try to be luck there to join your origin account, if this stupped developers from codemasters forget about sign up form.

I have the same issues, help desk at EA is absolutely arrogant and pushes the issue to me. I have been running f1 21 on my PS5 with no issues login in to the account, but now it is an issues all of a sudden. Asked for a refund, was looking forward to this game but paying 89 euros for something that does not work is bullsht

Same here. EA support said my PSN account is linked with a deleted EA account. That seems possible. I might've had a previous account many years ago, somehow still linked to PSN Or maybe I didn't, I can't remember. But then ... why can I play F1 2021 online?
There's something else going on here, and chat support is not up for trying to figure it out, or even escalating to specialized support.
Don't get me started on hitting the brick wall of linking my PSN with, say, an account that hasn't been deleted.

Hello. I am having issues with connecting to the EA servers. I have all the login information correct and I am logged in to Origin and EA themselves and I can not connect via the game. I do not see a place to type in my information and I am getting more and more upset that I can not play this with my friends on the other side of the country.
What do I need to do to fix this issue? Thanks.
P.S. I have read all the posts so far on this issue and none of those fixed my problem.

Hello, I can't login to my EA account. The error I'm getting is the one below and I have to options Retry and Cancel and when I press retry the error pops up again and nothing else happens. I do have origin installed and the steam account connected to my EA account. Is there anything I can do to fix the error?
EA Account Required
In order to connect to F1 Online Services you will need an EA account. Skipping this sign up/in process will put the game in to Offline Mode. You can sign up/in using the Retry option below or using the Retry Connection option in the main menu.- 3 years ago
And I can't make a ticket either. When I try I'm getting redirected to Twitter posts.

You have got to be kidding me. I wiped windows os off my steam deck. I reinstalled steam os. F1 22 works fine. So I wipe steam os and reinstall windows os from scratch again on my steam deck. Install all the drivers and install f1 22. Game worked fine and got the overlay pop up to log in to my account yesterday. Today, it won't connect and I get the EA account required error. Codemasters fix the game on PC for Steam users to force the pop up overlay to log into your account. Patch this game already.

UPDATE: Managed to contact customer service on Twitter via @ EAHelp over the weekend and got a private DM on this technical issue. Turns out I have login under my Googlemail account and it only recognize my EA account/profile for PlayStation and my Switch (got EA games on the Nintendo platform). See attached screenshot regarding connection.
Since I am playing F1 22 on my Xbox, I thought it was my Gmail account and have reset my password several times but it didn't work. Then I remember that I signed into my Xbox Series X with a different email address - in my case Hotmail. So I login under my Hotmail (as it's part of Microsoft), reset the password and checked my EA account/profile. The connection under my 'second' EA account has Xbox Live.
Loaded up F1 22 on Xbox Series X and it connected to the game's online services and that annoying 'EA Account required' message disappeared! So I can now access the online/multiplayer and other content including items for customization.
So my advice, remember your original email account when signed into your PlayStation ID or Xbox Gamertag. Use your same email to sign in to your EA Account and then check your game connection under your profile. Make sure it has the PlayStation Network on Xbox Live linked or connected to your EA Account. If so, then check your game and hopefully it links up and you can access the online part of the game.
