F1 22 constant game crash
Product: F1 22 Platform:PlayStation 5 Summarize your bug It’s very unpredictable at this stage but I’ve now had game crashes on 3 separate consoles with this time being on ps5, ive tried all the us...
Quick follow up Q, that fix you said, have you seen this error code before ?
Cool thank you, I guess if the rest mode fox doesn’t work it last option will be the reset, which would be annoying considering this is a Brand new ps5
Yea the last two ps4s I had both had countless crashes on them and only with this game, unbelievable to me tht the issue has carried over
@karlc98That does seem odd…. Is it the same TV? If it is. Try… Go to TV display settings and turn off any settings that has a off, low, med, high, auto and any setting that adjusts the picture in real time. Basically any setting you can turn off. Turn it off.
All TVs have settings that enhance picture… Some of these can interfere with game signal. Setting TV game turns off most but not all settings that can cause latency issues
It’s a outside chance but it’s worked for me in the past
Yea I’ll gone all this a go when I get back on, thanks again
Pity I won’t actually know if anything has worked until I race😂

Always do this with any TV I buy, then I see the actual quality of the panel I bought. No idea why manufacturers do this. None of them really work.
Must confess to not gaming on a TV, I use a monitor. 144Hz QHD Freesync via DP. I did use a Samsung TV back on earlier F1 games when I had Nvidia GPU. Stutter central, but there's apparently nothing wrong with Nvidia spaghetti.

@SteveJacksonMines a Sony. 120fps. I also access developer mode and then turn off all background processes.
But it is annoying if I just set the tv to game mode and run the game. I’ll be out on track then I go into tv display settings and turn everything off, there’s a noticeable improvement when I go back to game. Generally it’s HDR tone mapping that seems to increase latency
Not cursed with HDR either on my monitor.
The 4K OLED in the main room has it. Nice, but not a wow factor. Games already look a little unrealistic, no need for HDR to accentuate the uncanny valley.
First race back had another game crash, it is irreparable

Are you playing the PS4 version of the game or the PS5 version?
Are you using any other peripherals than the standard controller?
Have you updated the Playstation software?
Have you tried deleting the save game? (Painful, I know but the error seems game related. Save games are corrupted frequently on this title, it's really something they need to sort out. Monolithic save games are bad, mmmkay 😉)
Unfortunately I can’t see it being anything apart from a game issue, same issue happened across 3 separate consoles, and now on ps5 I’ve only moved to performance mode, always the opposite on os4
Deleting the game doesn’t delete the game save, that’s something I think I realised after the umpteenth crash, that would delete any game data and it would be like starting a new game? I race with a wheel that’s it

Which wheel is it?
Also, yes precisely. Deleting the game save would be like starting a new game. Possibly removing the issue that's causing the crash.
Codemasters have form for updates rending some save games unplayable. Also, I believe cloud synced saves can become corrupt if there is a loss of connectivity.
There is the unresolved issue of updates causing the game to actually not recognise the save game exists and it starts a new save / deletes the game data. That's been posted hundreds of times without explanations or (as I've pointed out already) resolution.
Thrustmaster t248.
I must look up how to properly remove a games save file

@karlc98Go to play station settings. Go to Storage it will be there
Is it not in game menu like on PC?
@SteveJackson2 separate Files: the Game file and then game save file
In 2 different locations. Game will be in games and apps and game saves is in saved data
Hmm @karlc98 It you have ps+. Go to saved data and game/app settings Go to saved data PS5… click on sync saved data. Then disable it., As it will stop auto constantly uploading game saves to cloud. May be cause an issue.
I’ll do this today and then let you know how it goes. May have another race tomorrow evening
