F1 22 crashing freezing on PS4

Same on mine.  Crashes happen at arbitrary times on Grand Prix and on MyTeam.  Doesn't seem to be a pattern.  I have been saving every 10 laps to try and avoid losing the whole race to this.   Wheel slams to one side, full rotation, and locks there, sound is frozen on an engine sound, and the screen is just frozen.  Requires a hard kill of the app and restart.  Seems lessened if I restart the game before the race begins.  When I did all sessions from P1 to race, I crashed at 9 laps.  When I restart the whole game before the race, I was able to complete the entire race so it may be some memory issue.
