F1 22 G923 Rattling Heavily

F1 22 G923 Wheel rattle.

After playing F1 21 for a number of months I bought F1 22 straight away. On F1 21 I had no issue at all with the wheel or the noises it were making.

After downloading F1 22 I jumped right in and set the wheel up.  Straight away I noticed the amount of noise coming from the wheel with it rattling and what not made it unplayable.  Even just driving down a straight it makes loads of noise.. (100x worse on kerbs)  I've changed all my game settings yet it still does this even with everything turned off apart from the usua; FFB.

I reinstalled F1 21 and had no issue at all. Is there a way to disable Trueforce?   Also the lights in the middle don't follow the rev meter of the vehicle like they do on F1 21.  I've seen a few people have the issue but no one has found a fix?  Is it on EA#s side?  Someone please help as I am unable to play F1 22 with that banging about.

Have you tried increasing the dampening in FFB settings? Normally, the feedback signal from the game, and what the wheel does as a reaction, need to be adjusted for most wheels. Since the G923 is a geared wheel, too sudden of adjustments in this signal can cause rattling just as you describe it. If you have a direct drive wheel, you can get a good experience without dampening. In short, dampening is trading sudden changes with smooth changes that make more sense for you to understand the car's behavior through the force feedback.

It exists a test tool that I haven't touched in a year, that I don't find right now, but I will look for it.

It is a test where you don't touch your wheel, and it starts to add incrementally more force in pulses, and reads the wheel's movement until you find the spot where the wheel actually moves from the force. It can be used to understand how much of details might be lost and how to set the damper, I'll see if I find some youtuber explaining it.

Anyways, try to tune your damper settings.

  • Rev indicator is not working, but force feedback is working even on spectator mode, when I spectate someone, wheel is acting the same as if I am driving. I saw that some people can't even race with this wheel, because FFB is not working, so when can we expect a new patch that will fix this and (a lot of) other bugs?

  • F122 has a higher FFB output then F1 2021 (at least from my experience).

The logitech wheels use gears so they will rattle and make noise while there is force coming through the wheel.

I think the only solution would be to increase the dampener, or lower the ffb....

  • I messed around with my settings of the GHUB   and found that this is the best and quietest settings for me.

My ingame settings are set to something like 50 on the Vibration and FFB.  Kerbs are on super low and same with the rest.   I can actually enjoy the game now and it's a lot quieter. Hope this helps others

  • I have G29 and I've had to turn kerb and off track feedback down.

I'm struggling with on track feedback though.  Wheel is as light as a feather with virtually no feedback (unless i hit a bump).  On 21 the wheel has resistance so felt like wheels were on the track.  Might as well be flying on 22.

@martyforster Are you still experiencing the lack of track feedback? I still have it and is very enoying. Not like F1 2021 at all.

What is very strange is that on supercars the FFB is perfect and just like F1 2021, but for some reason F1 cars it's not.
  • @nassass Yes, still no feedback. Barely even getting feedback from hitting curbs now.

I dont do the super cars so not sure about those.
