Here is a clip of Australia Quali if Jeddah isn't a good example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTL4WOdp8xY
From what I see, most of my points still stand about the grip. I understand that if the grip was just increased then lap times would be very quick but the current low level that it is at is incredibly tedious for driving and there are plenty of solutions to lower lap times while increasing grip, such as raising kerbs and more.
I understand that high loads on the tyres were reduced a lot last year and this year, but its far too unstable compared to real life and is way too easily lost IMO.
On Asseto Corsa, the comparison was based on the 2017 Car which was made as DLC for the game; I understand it will never be 1:1 but it is more realistic than the f1 games to actual f1 cars which is why I made the comparison as if a more accurate racing model could be made or the current one improved to become more sim like then racing could be made much more fun
and less tedious
Problem with increasing grip is that the current cornering speeds are already faster than IRL.. Increasing kerb height for all tracks doesnt make this better because they are rarely riding kerbs on the inside of corner in unrealistic fashion..
Traction is not that often a problem if you compare esports guys to Australia and those cases that are further off might be fixed by the upcoming patches. Until then its all just guessing

A change that could be made is to reduce downforce so that cornering speed is reduced, but due to the increased grip, there would be minimal change to the cornering speed.
Traction isn't often a problem for esports guys since they've spent and will continue to spend hundreds upon hundreds if not thousands of hours into the game as it is their job, so they will master it to a level which the casual person will not.
However, despite this one of the big pros of increasing grip would be a more realistic game which would replicate real-life experiences closer than it is currently doing- 3 years ago@LittleAmigoBrit Reducing downforce mostly changes medium and high speed cornering, minor influence on the slow speed corners which are affected the most by grip, not the solution!
Well F1 drivers are the real life counterpart to Esports guys, they train non stop to do the best possible.. you cant compare how they go on the throttle to casuals..
A thing that would change things is a change of balance between weight distribution and front - rear tyre grip... This will improve traction a bit while not improving laptimes if done right.. But thats up to David Greco- 3 years ago
@Meza994 Yes but if downforce is reduced then lap time is lost on medium and high-speed corners while being regained in low-speed corners meaning the overall change to lap speeds should not be very big while traction and grip is improved.
Also, the reason why I provided the telemetry data of an f1 driver is to show the difference between the game and real-life in how the throttle application is done, and how if you tried to replicate it you would most certainly spin out. It had nothing to do with casuals, and the reason why esport pros can be compared with casuals while f1 drivers can't is that casuals and esport pros play the exact same game, while a casual does not actually drive an f1 car while an f1 driver does
- 3 years ago@LittleAmigoBrit Regarding esports, as long as they are allowed to use tcam in stead of how the PRO’S do it in real life, you ahouldn’t take that too serious. They will go full on panic mode when they are mandated to use cockpit view. Because there go are the consistant laptimes, the widescreen view, which are the most crutch possible.
If they call them esports pro, make it pro and let them use cockpit view mandated. Bet you that they suddenly are 1 to 2 seconds off their tcam times.
Cockpit is harder, way harder to drive and see and feel what the car is doing.- 3 years ago@JasVerstoppen038 It’s so nice to see some people here who talks sense. I couldn’t agree more 👍🏼🙏🏼
