Too much meretricious gatekeeping elitism in this thread. Didn't receive any memo from corporate but if we do indeed need to present our credentials before posting, I was playing on 102~105 with no assists on a pad in my PS4 days, for whatever it's worth.
Useful advice for a change. Those having trouble with force feedback on controller, if you did any changes to the input profile on the game settings e.g. copying your settings from previous games, please revert to default and work from there. There are 4 sliders:
- Vibration & Force Feedback Strength: this is fair game, increase at will after doing a lap or two with the default settings. Go easy on it though, 5 increments tops every time
- On track Effects | Rumbling Strip Effects | Off Track Effects: leave these secondary sliders on default values until you find a comfortable setting with the FFB Strength one. These are more for fine tuning.
Reason being a) the FFB settings got reworked this time, these values do not seem to mean the same as before and old profile settings will not translate 1:1; and b) clipping is a real thing even on controllers.
Discussing this with a handful of users on Discord, this seems to be the case. The system doesn't do the best job of communicating how easily you can get FFB clipping here, but on part this is on us for just messing with the settings straight out of the box too. Looks like you can easily drown key signals, like the throttle feedback, if you go about cranking up those sliders without much thought.
I play on a wheel these days, but did a few laps on Spa with the Dualsense on PS5 before plugging the wheel. Lap 1 was the expected spin fest, but got my bearings relatively fast on lap 2 and it was fine after that.
This does not mean that the came is working wonders or as intended, there seems to be other FFB related issues going on. But this tip (redoing your settings based on default) is working for some. Hopefully will help you get more enjoyment out of the game in its current version.
And just a gratuitous heads up, know how sometimes people go on and on giving grief to someone just to realize way too late that they're dealing with a veritable expert on the matter? Yeah, you newcomers better beware on how you speak to @ScarDuck14 . If you ever find yourself in a room with ScarDuck and Hamilton or David Coulthard, you can bet your mom's house Blessed Lewis and DC will be all over chatting and cracking jokes with Duck while you sit alone in the corner sipping on your milkshake 🤭
Edit: and guess what? You can also bet your mom's pension they won't be talking about how only the real deal play on cockpit cam or whatever.

@LittleAmigoBrit Simple case of when they are at home. The only person they get to boast about how great they are is their mum. Obviously their mums know different. So they come to places like this looking for a thread they can shoehorn how amazing they think they are 😃. I don’t mind or care when it’s aimed at me. As I don’t need to prove or get validation on my awesomeness from the internet: But it does bother me they post on a thread posted by someone just looking for alittle help and not only don’t offer any but try and belittle them cause they asked for help. 😇

🙄 @SertacKaratepe_ I was referring to posts that have been made on here plus other sources where people have said they are struggling to stop the wheels spinning all the way through to 4th or 5th gear
The fact their is a patch coming to reduce torque when accelerating through those gears clearly means it’s a issue.
In the actual world worki for me Is more often than not driving at high speeds on public roads. Although not anywhere ear F1 speeds but it’s A thousand times more dangerous than driving on a track and infinite times more dangerous than paying a racing game.

Well its good to hear that that torque will be improved in updates which would improve stability as you need to fight less with your wheel and a fix for an apparent miss-match in transmission would definitely improve consistency and driving for No TC

And the only way you can do that legally is by proving you can
