Grip is good as it is, and won't be changed.
An improvement to engine torque and general total torque per gear to allow better throttle application, therefore giving more confidence to the player under acceleration, is coming as soon as possible. But this will be the last tweak to the base handling.

Thanks for this notice. I think this will make a huge difference actually. The issue really seems to be persistent in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear and that's where it's the most frustrating because you should be under good grip and higher levels of downforce at that point limiting the wheel slip. Glad to hear there's a fix coming and I'm not going crazy trying to figure out why there's so much slip in the higher gears still.
