I will try and record a clip but the most notable instances for me is Maima and Jeddah.
In Miami it is coming out the last hairpin into the left, right kink before the start finish straight as well as T2, T3.
In Jeddah it is T4, T5 which is 5th to 6th gear.
Has happened on other tracks too but cant remember exactly off the top of my head. But honestly, gear changes are not easy on this game. The overall traction you can learn, but not having confidence in gear changes is something hard to drive around.
I think the folks here denying there is an issue are missing the key point to this entire issue and conversation. I wonder how many of the people here saying nothing needs to be done to address this are actually playing with a controller? There's zero doubt in my mind the current way this traction/grip model is working is completely fine for those with wheels and pedals as there is significantly more travel in the pedals to help manage the throttle out of turns as you work up through the gears. The main issue here is the current set up doesn't work well for pad/controller players. There just isn't enough travel in the triggers to manage this properly. I've played with the linearity settings at 0, 20, 50, 75, 100 even and there's just no real difference mainly because there just isnt enough travel in the triggers to make it easy to sit at 40% throttle or something to that effect; its far too sensitive still even the slightest touch of the trigger from around 30% to try and get up to around 60% is far too sensitive and you'll end up essentially in full throttle or a spin.
I played with a wheel at my friends place over the weekend; HUGE difference compared to a controller and that's the problem. So for those of you still sitting here saying this is a player issue and nothing more; that's just not the case. I've managed to adapt for the most part now but it's still going to cause issues for me with the triggers on my controllers. They're just isn't enough travel to allow for the proper throttle management that the game is asking for.
I really hoped this torque issue would have been resolved in 1.05, but apparently it wasn't based on the patch notes and playing the game. Be nice if someone at EA could provide an ETA on this update.

I'm getting tired of seeing players with medium traction control getting too good starts against players without traction control.

@petro1319Exactly mate. Thing is for me on a pad some tracks are better than others. Im Just real lost with this game right now brink of frustration.
@Greg_HFrNo no, I'm on full traction control and every race starts I overtake at least 2/3 cars (with wheels smoking).
This is what developers want 🤷🏻♂️
And still they don't fix 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I have to race with full TC else I spin every 2 corners (last year I used to play with medium TC without any problem, I use Pad).
I can't count numbers of players spinning alone in online races 🤦🏻♂️ - 3 years ago@PlayDj I can't spin every 2 or maybe 3 corners. I'm on a pad, no TC by the way. Adjust your driving style.
- 3 years ago@Blackbird90 Comments like this don't mean jack when cm have already acknowledged a physics torque issue/update. Again another frustrating post to read.
- 3 years ago@Dan78loki exactly.
@Blackbird90 go to see onboard F1 in real life and watch accurately the throttle bar, you will be surprised... - 3 years ago
The key to a game like this is consistency. Yes I can nail maybe 1 or 2 laps without spinning but 40 laps on a pad nah. Its a recipe of frustration
- 3 years ago
@Dan78lokiI solved, TC full and voilà.
Con? 1/2 seconds slower, but at least no spin 😬
When they will fix I will back on TC medium/off. - smudger823 years agoNew Adventurer
@PlayDjBut then also see onboard footage of lando's peddle cam soft and smooth. I'm using ps4 pad with no assists and my main problem is losing ffb through corners which catch me out sometimes and make me spin. I just hope that when this torque update does come it doesn't make TC even more OP because it already is on race starts and in wet conditions the diffrence in grip is ridiculous.

1.06 didn't fix the TC.
Always same shame.

@PlayDjNot exactly. If you're looking for accurate pedal work, best we can get at the moment is probably the pedal cam footage from Norris' car and telemetry analysis from Joyon Palmer on F1 TV.
After that, you can get a reasonable sense for the throttle application from post-event onboard footage on youtube, the one with the circular overlay.
The live telemetry they do during the events, the one with the neat HUD over the halo, that one is low resolution and you'd get a wrong idea on how the drivers do pedal work. That's not even mentioning the brakes, the live telemetry just shows whether there's no brake pressure or any brake pressure – it's basically an on/off dataset. - Ultrasonic_773 years agoHero

Can you not tell any difference at all from the torque curve change?
- mariohomoh3 years agoHero (Retired)
@Ultrasonic_77Did you try the game post patch? The torque curve change has an obvious effect on the handling. I play with TC off, but even if no changes were made to the TC logic (i.e. same parameters for when TC kicks in and how much power TC cuts off), people should still feel the difference.
That does not necessarily mean that Medium TC doesn't need to be revised anymore. There could still be the issue of Medium being just too little aid and Full being too much.
These convos always suffer from people not adhering or not knowing the terminology. Grip, torque, traction, traction control – all different things. But I cannot give much credence to anyone claiming nothing changed with this update, in all honesty. - 3 years ago@mariohomoh Ok ok.
Anyway, in the past F1 I could drive with TC medium without spin.
Now I often spin. - 3 years ago
On a pad ultra it's slight. I'm not even sure that'd it's even just placebo. Take offs are still sketch at best, and most of Bahrain corners are skid pans for me. I still do think it's trying to keep up with ai traction that the player comes unstuck and in a wall.
- 3 years ago@Ultrasonic_77 I don't know. I just spin in 3° gear after a turn.

I'm still playing F1 2021 🙂. I'm interested in how this update pans out as it may influence when/if I buy F1 22.

- mariohomoh3 years agoHero (Retired)@ajobling1983 Don't sleep on Jolyon Palmer's analysis then, mate. It often goes over telemetry and the brake trace in there is more realistic.
His analysis are always partially featured on F1 Youtube channel. - 3 years ago
Guys,
Are this change in traction and tire temperatures from patch 1.06, the change that was long promised to improve traction, or is it just a stopgap and the full change is yet to come? I got lost in it - 3 years ago@Rgramiscelhi No, in this update they added some hat colours, some IKEA sofa, some jeans, etc.
🤣🤣🤣
Is too early to fix traction... - 3 years ago
@PlayDjYour useless and mocking answer didn't help at all, nor will I waste my time on you. my native language is not English, so I'm trying to understand this question clearly, thanks for not helping at all. Can someone please clarify for me?
- Darthsausage443 years agoRising Veteran@Rgramiscelhi Yes it is fixed. I am using a wheel on PC version and I can definatly tell the difference I have done fp3 and qualifying @Jeddah
in driver career mode since the patch - mariohomoh3 years agoHero (Retired)@Rgramiscelhi Yes, but if I'm not mistaken David Greco still wants to work on it and deliver his "full" vision in the coming weeks, but time is a issue with the league season picking up.
- 3 years ago@Darthsausage44 Thanks for the reply, I will test the gameplay with the new patch.
