I think the folks here denying there is an issue are missing the key point to this entire issue and conversation. I wonder how many of the people here saying nothing needs to be done to address this are actually playing with a controller? There's zero doubt in my mind the current way this traction/grip model is working is completely fine for those with wheels and pedals as there is significantly more travel in the pedals to help manage the throttle out of turns as you work up through the gears. The main issue here is the current set up doesn't work well for pad/controller players. There just isn't enough travel in the triggers to manage this properly. I've played with the linearity settings at 0, 20, 50, 75, 100 even and there's just no real difference mainly because there just isnt enough travel in the triggers to make it easy to sit at 40% throttle or something to that effect; its far too sensitive still even the slightest touch of the trigger from around 30% to try and get up to around 60% is far too sensitive and you'll end up essentially in full throttle or a spin.
I played with a wheel at my friends place over the weekend; HUGE difference compared to a controller and that's the problem. So for those of you still sitting here saying this is a player issue and nothing more; that's just not the case. I've managed to adapt for the most part now but it's still going to cause issues for me with the triggers on my controllers. They're just isn't enough travel to allow for the proper throttle management that the game is asking for.
I really hoped this torque issue would have been resolved in 1.05, but apparently it wasn't based on the patch notes and playing the game. Be nice if someone at EA could provide an ETA on this update.
@petro1319Exactly mate. Thing is for me on a pad some tracks are better than others. Im Just real lost with this game right now brink of frustration.
