F1 22 Intermediate tyre changes cause AI to pit every lap swapping tyres

Product: F1 22
Platform:Steam-PC
Summarize your bug Race in Canada starts with dry weather, then light rain starts. Track gradually gets wetter as expected, but the Race Engineer seems to think that standing water still means "Drys are the best tyres right now". I override this, swap to intermediates, immediately have more grip as I expected. the AI I was racing do the same. Except, next lap, with the track getting EVEN WETTER, to the point where full wet tyres are quite possibly more appropriate, they swap back to soft tyres. Ruining their races completely as they did a pointless pit stop, and now have absolutely no grip. This was a problem back in F1 2021, why is this still even here?
What is your 16 digit Report Code? RPAC-PASA-EHTP-EHXE
Which area is the bug/glitch in? My Team
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Did you have cross-play enabled? No
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Any race where the conditions go from dry to wet, watch the AI make Ferrari's real life strategy choices look genius by comparison. AI is set to 60 at 100% race distance.
What happens when the bug occurs? The AI just start pitting every lap swapping tyres back and forth between intermediate and dry tyres, the race engineer insists that dry tyres are faster despite the track being utterly soaked.
What do you expect to see? I expect the AI to not start pitting every single lap.

Thankfully for my experience, I was already in first so this hasn't changed standings all that much, but it makes the victory feel unearned when the AI may as well have all just pulled into the pit lane and retired because of how mind bogglingly stupid they're being. Back in F1 2021 I had this bug happen with me back in 10th, and it's a terrible feeling. What's the point in playing the singleplayer if the AI just all simultaneously give me the win? It absolutely kills any enthusiasm to play a race whenever the forecast shows changeable conditions. I realise that programming realistic AI isn't an easy task, but this is ridiculous, considering this has been a documented bug since the previous game as well, the fact this bug hasn't been addressed is just embarrassing.

  • Update: Track is getting even wetter, Intermediates are struggling for grip, Race Engineer still trying to get me to swap to dries, Max Verstappen is now in 15th because he's taken his 5th pit stop by the half way point. Yes he just swapped to softs, because aquaplaning is something that's in fashion right now, apparently.

Whatever coding decides when Intermediate/Wet tyres are faster clearly isn't working.

Update #2: The track is basically a river, Inters can't keep up. Safety car comes out, the cause? 7 cars crashed, all on softs, all into the same wall, because they tried to brake, and just aquaplaned right into it. They didn't crash into each other, they all went off by themselves, no contact! Why am I even bothering to play this anymore.

Update 3: Using a mid session save I dropped earlier, I've done some testing. Turns out part of what's happening is the AI see me swapping to Inters, and then pit to copy me. Then next lap because they think the track isn't wet enough, they pit again to swap to softs. Basically whatever logic is making the AI react to the player pitting is completely borked.
