Don't suppose anyone has found a fix for this yet? I'm on ps5 and for the last couple of months have not been able to do a manual start because of this...

I’m on PS5 too, didn’t face any similar issue so far.

This is another old bug. Playing a different game mode (change of car, etc.) fixed it for me on F1 2020.

One thing that can cause this is having a physical gear shifter in addition to the standard gear-shift paddles on a wheel. If the separate gear shifter isn't in neutral then manual starts won't work as described in the first post.
