Do you try to desactivate the post processing in game vr setting ? the effect is a little reduced for me, tell us if the same for you

I am also having this issue. 10 laps in to Bahrain and the crashes and I submit a crash report. RRAT-KBVX-VSKH-GVXE
I have tried Steam VR Beta have the latest Nvidia Display drivers installed and no pending Windows updates

Just switched it out to a 3090 with the same result.

I thank I have May fixed the issue. I made sure to disable SteamVR Home through the Quest 2, while the SteamVR app was opened, I started the F1 2022 game in VR mode. I was able to finish two practice events, a qualifying lap, and a complete race with no issue at all.
Many games often crash on the VR headset if the SteamVR App is not already running beforehand.
I listed my specs in an earlier post and will post here if need be.
If this fixes for everyone then I would definitely put this out. Thank you for your quick response into looking at a possible fix and I hope this helps.
@Pierrerino86My apologies for the photo not being in English, but you have to open SteamVR through the Quest 2, it will load up your SteamVR Home, then click the 3 Bar Settings Button on the left hand controller, then click the cog at the bottom right, Select Menu on the far left, then the very last option is how to disable SteamVR Home. Finally, restart SteamVR.
You will still have SteamVR open on your Quest 2. Click the 3 Bar Settings button on the right controller, select the monitor that the game is easily accessible to, then open the game through the headset and select start in VR mode.
I’ve read this does not fix a jittery problem. I didn’t have frame rate issues. I had crashing issues.
I believe it’s crashing because SteamVR or the game is not processing properly through the PC, which heats up the Quest 2, and makes the game crash.
I felt the Quest 2 before I did this and it was hot. I felt the Quest 2 after, and it was warm.
I hope they fix it.
@XecutiveAces tried it. The jittering effect is still there. I think we can do better with different settings. However, we are dependent on the help of the developers who simply have to program this game better. In the previews it was said that you can play VR with a 2070 without any problems. I don't think so. The game is so resource consuming. It just has to be done better. It's just no comparison to Assetto Corsa, AMS or iracing - in the negative and that's just not good.

Fixed WHAT? this game is not fixed. It is comoletely broken.
Period.
The game works fine for me in vr (when it works) but it keeps crashing randomly while playing my career mode and it keeps crashing at a random time while playing the first practice on the first race

I've been having the same issues, have been updating drivers and what not.
Now I upgraded my windows to 11 (from 10x64 pro) and it seems to have cleared the issues with stuttering in menu, and in game for the first 30 seconds.
Then they returned, and the stuttering increased more and more the longer I drive.
I then disconnected my wheel Fanatec CSL DD with a F1 2.5 on it, and the CSL V3 pedals connected directly to the pc.
Now I can drive no problem with the keayboard. no stuttering.
Whilst the wheel was connected I found that turning it in menu, would make the music stutter!
In VR the track is black, but hud will show, in menu it works fine.
I would try disable stencil in VR settings, but it is greyed out.

it would be really great if EA could comment on all the VR issues other than always these standard phrases. It simply cannot be OUR job to fix these problems with any walkarounds.
Exactly @Pierrerino86 everyone is trying to make it work yet it's not exactly best plus it's something that shouldn't have to be done like this. I played around for hours yesterday trying to make it work and it's still not yet playable. Terrible. Yet other racing games are pretty much plug and play. I think it would be best for EA to at least come out and say 'we hear you and are onto fixing it'.
Problem persists, it is NOT solved.... Very disappointing on EA and Codemasters part, really tired of developers releasing "half baked" games for top dollar, I will await a solution, till then I can't be bothered with this pile of hot garbage.

I have been going through the motions with very little success.
What I did found:
When benchmarking VR in Ultra Low graphic setting I got around 30 FPS
When benchmarking VR in High setting I got around 27 FPS
While benchmarking wearing my Quest 2:
If I held my head still or resting against the seat, the graphics where ok (for 30FPS)
However, the moment any head movement was involved, it would take about 1.5 frames or 120ms to catch up with the movement, causing the jitter.
This tells me it is a refresh issue and the Quest2 or HMD is not getting the information quick enough from the game.
This is very much game related as no other sim in my collection is doing this.
Hopefully this will help those @EA or @Codemaster fixing this issue..

@Randy911 I've been reading around the internet, that having a mixed set of pedals/wheel bases has been causing problems, and that it's not limited to Fanatec gear, if you have mixed gear for controlling, that might be the issue? That's what i've found so far with my setup. Using the default pedals with my G920 removed the issue, but using a different set of pedals would solve it
This performance hit was the same in flatscreen too, using mixed gear would halve FPS.

@EA_Atici've noticed that the jittering is not present in the mirror window on the monitor, that is to say, the 2D version of what the VR headset sees. The jittering occurs when you rotate your head to look around (left right up down), despite framerate being very high (high 70s, 80s) if one keeps their head still, but no jittering in the mirror window.
Please fix or tell us how to fix, it's currently unusable. Thank you
