F1 22 PC VR jittering, freezing screens and crashing
Anyone having issues with VR stuttering inside of the car when looking left and right. Game is looking fine on the monitor but with the headset on it's unplayable. When having to retire the VR scree...
The topic is marked as "Solved" in the title, maybe thats is why it's ignored.
The biggest problem for me is the antialiasing "TAA" it's just crap, if they just could implement MSAA i would be kind of happy, even if general performance is not that great.
this is unreal no matter what you do with quest 2 via link cable it will find a way to crash steam VR, I tried using open composite to bypass steam VR but it won't boot, unfortunately.
Using virtual desktop seems to work however the performance is poor.
lose-lose situation.
ACC, AMS2, Iracing, AC, Project cars 2 are miles better atm
Found this forum after I bought the game for VR. I have been racing and flying in VR for a long time, what a mess this crap is! Refund request already sent. There are to many other racing games were I dont have to deal with this junk.
The other thing we need to start letting these "so called reviewers" who want to stay cozy with EA and give fake reviews on youtube a piece of our mind.
@Skuggbraxen They marked it as solved earlier in the thread to highlight that they were looking at it. Odd I know but at least it's something. I hope it wasn't the initial fix for the mesh that they patched a few patches ago.
I've had to limit my F1 time now because of this, I can only play if I look straight ahead, so it's a bit like viewing it on a VR monitor. If I try to race properly and look through the corners, on twisty circuits it's vomit-inducing because of the way the image moves with your head slightly. Racing the same tracks on ACC doesn't give the same effect.
@IOwlPacinoI Please don't try and split the momentum between threads, keep it all in here so that it's all in one place. We need to work together on this.
And therefore if it really is Climax Studios as presumed, I wonder when their resource becomes available again to sort out the main issue of movement lag.
@NeilBywater Yeah this is what worries me too. If it's a big piece of work it'll need not only planning, but booking in the resource, and their time paying for. It's a catch 22 because the VR uptake will be low in its current state, which (and I hope this isn't the case) the appetite for EA/CM to pay for it to be fixed will be lower. ☹️
@EZ-Red let's try to get influencers in the F1 community on twitter and twitch to help out. Somebody here must know someone with a decent following, who will likely know someone with a bigger following.
Recently clean install of Windows 11. No other game issues with ANY other SteamVR game. Happens ONLY when returning from a flashback and seems to happen randomly, but will happen EVERY time I play this.
3080ti 32Gb RAM Ryzen 3700x. I get acceptable performance on a Quest 2.
This is NOT ACCEPTABLE. The game has been out for a while now and while some VR issues are fixed, too many remain. This is a game issue that is causing me to be unable to play, and it is not caused by overclocking, RAM issues or any other excuse that game publishers like to throw out (I used to work for Sony PlayStation Tech support so I know ALL the tricks they try to pull in order to avoid taking responsibility).
