F1 22 PC VR jittering, freezing screens and crashing
Anyone having issues with VR stuttering inside of the car when looking left and right. Game is looking fine on the monitor but with the headset on it's unplayable. When having to retire the VR scree...
@EZ-Red let's try to get influencers in the F1 community on twitter and twitch to help out. Somebody here must know someone with a decent following, who will likely know someone with a bigger following.
Recently clean install of Windows 11. No other game issues with ANY other SteamVR game. Happens ONLY when returning from a flashback and seems to happen randomly, but will happen EVERY time I play this.
3080ti 32Gb RAM Ryzen 3700x. I get acceptable performance on a Quest 2.
This is NOT ACCEPTABLE. The game has been out for a while now and while some VR issues are fixed, too many remain. This is a game issue that is causing me to be unable to play, and it is not caused by overclocking, RAM issues or any other excuse that game publishers like to throw out (I used to work for Sony PlayStation Tech support so I know ALL the tricks they try to pull in order to avoid taking responsibility).
@Kalarn Wait for the next F1 Game. Hopefully it will be become a new engine. This engine is to old for good VR implementation. For a patch that makes VR playable normally, you can wait until you black out here. Sorry but that's the truth
I hadn’t realised that my thread on the VR performance being worse than it was during patch 1.04 got collapsed into this thread. Not sure why, but I assume to bury this into one big thread of VR complaints so it doesn’t look like it’s a big issue.
@Stampede_251 Generally the F1 22 influencer are too small to be objective as they need the support from EA so they will never draw any negative attention to a major release like this.

While you might be content to shrug and waste 50 notes, I'm tired of being told to deal with it. I've been in the industry for decades, and it's got exponentially worse - this is precisely the response companies like EA, Sony etc want to hear.
It's a defective product which stops me playing it in the way it was advertised. I suspect I'll have to seek a refund - but I'd much rather have a fixed game.
@furfoots good point. i just found out that iRacing has Formula 1 too, only that we have last year's car which is totally fine with me. I'll check back on EA in 30 years when the current leadership is gone. Thanks guys and good luck, see you in iRacing (VR is amazing there)
ive just loaded into baku and i dont have any more stuttering in the garage or pits. However there seems to be an issue with an occasional flickering image in the right eye :/

Tried playing in VR, so far no SteamVR crashes.
But, save game was corrupt and not recoverable. Good job EA.
@Silvercrow1983 i cant confirm that. Its the best VR Racing Game i ever played and i tried many ( ac, acc, pcars 1, pcars 2, ams2, iracing..) But only if your with an AMD GPU. On my 6900xt i can play with ultra preset and Supersampling without any problem straight out using steamvr. But on my Nvidia 3070 it want perform even with open composite or other tricks.. So thats only a problem between F1 22 and Nvidia GPUs that needs to be sorted out and not a proble of the "old engine".
