Wow! Fantastic stuff, this is what I’ve been looking for.
What’s really surprising to me is that every dry tyre’s peak grip is achieved at as low as 85°C. I always thought it the ideal carcass temp would be much smaller window, like 95-100°C. I’ve always setup my car so that the tyre temps would be in that range.

Also, true, I was very surprised to see it as well. I always stressed about being around 95-100°C carcass on Mediums at least(which also left me confused on how can you have pressures which will work for all 3 dry compounds. Especially since you can't change the pressures during the race for some reason, unless it's like that irl, I wouldn't know)
But yeah, feel free to run exactly 85 degrees on hards :v- 3 years ago@D34THNO1E Yeah, exactly! This universal tyre pressure for every compound was the problem I was searching answers for. And then found this thread. But, like you mentioned there’s still incentive to play within that higher range of 95°C when you want to maximize high load grip (+speed) and vice versa, which is a good thing.
Too bad it’s really hard to know what % of wet the track is. I guess there could be some visual cues that appear at certain %s, who knows.
