Platform: PC Windows 10
Summarize your bug: VR has a massive stuttering/shaking issue when looking around. It's almost like double vision and hurts making it impossible to use.
Which area is the bug/glitch in? When on the track in VR
How often does the bug occur? Every time
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I'm using a Valve Index with SteamVR 1.22.13. A EVGA 3090 FTW with the latest Nvidia Driver: 516.59
What happens when the bug occurs? The VR image shakes uncontrollably
What do you expect to see? A normal stable VR image
I was able to resolve the stuttering/shaking issue in VR with my 3090 with the following process:
1) I downloaded a previous version of the Nvidia driver. Specifically 472.12-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-whql
2) When installing 472.12, I selected to do a Custom Install
3) I selected the option to "Perform a clean installation"
4) After the new driver was done installing, restarted my PC
5) Loaded F1 2022 after the PC restarted and VR worked perfectly. No stuttering or shaking.
6) Redownloaded the new Nvidia driver 516.59-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch-whql
7) Selected to do a Custom Install again
8) Selected the option to "Perform a clean installation" again
9) Restarted the PC
10) No more stuttering/shaking in VR now with the latest driver!
I'm getting a solid 90fps with Ultra VR settings with no issues.

Im pretty sure the excessive stuttering is due to resolution conflicts between steamvr/oculus and the game itself
I can get the stuttering to stop by using the following settings
Oculus Quest 2 Refresh rate 90hz
Rendering Res - 5408x2736
Steam VR settings
Resolution per eye 100% (picks up the currently set quest 2 settings)
In game set to override steam vr resolution and set that to 100% so that it comes out as the same 2736 resolution as set in the oculus (but per eye)
For me, this almost removes the stuttering (there is still some)
VR is still potato though, draw distance is awful. Anything further away than the front wheels looks like it's covered in vaseline. It's a far cry from a good setup on assetto corsa thats for sure.

Check if god rays and bloom is checked in vr settings and turn it off it was causing a weird washed out effect, that might get rid of what you mean by looking like covered in vaseline.

I'm using a Valve Index with SteamVR 1.22.13 - 3 years ago@ranzwocket This doesn’t work at all.

This doesn’t work, I took the time to try it that’s how I know.
- 3 years agoTry it with SteamVR beta. It's much better for me...
