- @ranzwocket "What VR system are you using? This doesn't work for me with Quest 2 using Oculus Link(wired) on my 3080."
I'm using a Valve Index with SteamVR 1.22.13 I struggled with Unplayable VR lag for about half an hour last night before I think I got it figured out. I ended up needing to boot the game through the PC, rather than through the Quest 2. I still need to confirm whether I can just boot Steam VR through the PC and then load the game in the Quest view, or if I need to launch everything by only clicking the game on the PC and selecting the VR version. Either way, one of those two procedures fixed it for me. Really stupid, and I hope they get it actually fixed so this sort of thing isn’t necessary.
Same problem here with the G2. Game is still playable for me in fact I think it’s amazing!
only the head movement jitters is spoiling it at the moment b
a fix for me but by no means will it work for you but if playing through steam.
1: go through your steam VR setting manually adjust render resolution to your headset specs or a little under
2: load up f1 22 go into VR setting leave override scaling on adjust scaling to 200 (that way you get the clearest graphics)
3: then go into graphic settings start at ultra low and the adjust up
This fixed mine i really didnt see any major changes between UL to UH graphics really anyway
I run AMD 5600 with RTX 2060 super 16GB ram nothing special but if it improved mine im sure guys with better CPU will have better luck with higher graphics settings
Had to lower the resolution multiplier to 50 in the game itself. The resolution is then nearto the native res of the HP Reverb G2.
DLSS + performance settings, low or medium graphics detail.
Runs without problems very smooth.
I am using a 2080 with an i5.
Not the best. So maybe you can do better.
Distance very blury though. Can't read signs.
Maybe this would improve a bit with a higher resolution like factor 1.4 to 1.6, but my system won't do that.
But I doubt it. It just not enough pixels in the headset.
Any other ideas?
"i had this issue too, how i fixed it: set the resolution in the Oculus Application and in Steam VR Settings to the same value. (For me, it is 4128x2096 in Oculus and 2064x 2096 in Steam VR "
That worked for me. Thank you for that.
From my testing, I could reduce (but not eliminate) head movement stutter, at the price of unplayable amounts of blurriness.
It all comes down to the anti-aliasing setting I chose.
When using either NVIDIA DLSS or TAA + AMD FSR 1.0 Upscale, you can adjust the quality levels.
Quality gave me the most visual clarity but migraine inducing head movement stutter.
Ultra Performance made the picture quality incredibly blurry (even mechanics 3 feet from me in the garage are blurry), but will reduce the stutter a fair amount. (but I still experienced stutter even on ultra performance)
I really hope they are working on this and that it will be addressed in a future patch. It’s a shame we have to compromise.
My specs:
NVIDIA 3080ti
i7-8700k
HP Reverb G2
Yes, this game is actually nearly unplayable with a HP Reverb G2.
My framerates are really decent, even with highest settings....but when i move my head left or right a massive jittering begins to start.
Driving the F1 tracks without moving the head isn't fun at all!
Patch 1.05 does not fix anything for me!
Please, please fix this, EA.
Ryzen 5900, RTX 3080Ti
@uzz1999 and @Dosperado I'm having this exact issue, many people are having the same problem. There is a longer thread of people discussing this problem here https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/F1-22-PC-VR-jittering-freezing-screens-and-crashing/td-p/11593441/page/13
- @BasmatiRice25727 this is exactly my experience, thanks for laying it out in such detail and so clearly
