Sorry, no need to respond to any of those questions.
After further investigations, I found the problem. There was a problem with our automatic tiering service (which is what is called to assign teams, and put player in their tier before the first event), it looks like you league was one of the leagues affected, so your league was unable to tier, which in turn led to the error you saw in game.
I put a fix in about an hour ago and it seems to be resolved now
So sorry about this, this must have been really annoying ☹️

As soon as I turn the game on it says it can't connect to Racenet and online services but all my friends are in the league waiting for me.
I have restarted my console server times and I still can't get on. How can you fix this?
