F1 23 Release Date
So I want to know when we think we will get the game released this year? My thinking and i know its early days but I believe we could get it on 7th July for a standard release with 4th/5th July as ea...
Are they allowed to give the rights to make the licensed F1 game to two different game companies at the same time?
This would be so good, because both companies would challenge each other to make a better and better game, almost like a race to make the best F1 game possible. And, from FOM’s perspective, they could make more money selling the right to two different companies (sure with two companies having the rights they would be worth less, but they’d definitely still be expensive).
Besides, it’s not as though EA (at the end of their current deal until the end of 2025) could go ‘No, we don’t want to let you sell the rights to another company as well.’ Because it’s FOM in charge, not EA.
The FIFA one is a great example. I think FOM should definitely strongly consider selling the rights to another company. It’s a win for them, a win for us, and ultimately, a win for the game developers as they push each other to make better and better games.
Also, there is nothing forcing us to buy both games made by both developers. We just get to choose the one that we think is better or has something we really want in the game. But, by all means, if you wanted to buy both games, you definitely could.
I don’t think it would make it financially viable tbh. Football games have a gigantic player base. F1 specific games don’t. If 2 developers released a F1 game equally as good/bad. Would mead a 50 50 market share give or take. So with that sort off risk development budgets would be smaller meaning higher likelihood off a worse game
