F1 23 Release Date
So I want to know when we think we will get the game released this year? My thinking and i know its early days but I believe we could get it on 7th July for a standard release with 4th/5th July as ea...

@Ultrasonic_77Im personally hoping we get a teaser before the end of March. I don’t see us getting an early release unless we get it by then but i could (most probably will) be wrong
Do we want an early release though? The last two years have frankly been pretty bad in terms of the bug situation at launch and both would have benefited from being released later but in a better state IMHO. I fear hoping for an early release this year is very much a case of being careful what is wished for... Although obviously I wouldn't complain if we got a great game sooner!
@Cpayne32 There will be just as many bugs as before: The issue for me is that ALL bugs get fixed in a timely manner…. Bugs shouldn’t be in games. (Except maybe the occasional one. Nothing is perfect) But unfortunately this is now industry standard practice to fix and finish games post launch. Cheaper using us to find the bugs than paying for extensive QA.
Earlier into the real season the game launches the more games they will sell of the back off it. Currently launching the game halfway through a season when it looks like one driver will runaway with it and confirmation off that half dozen races later. Reduces the hype and excitement surrounding F1 and I imagine impact sales of the game.
What I think would be best from the perspective of most players would be a closed beta test that happens long enough before launch for problems found to be addressed before the game is actually released. I don't expect this to happen based on the last couple of years but I do think it would help. Recent games have had many issues at launch that were identified during beta testing but hadn't been fixed.

@Ultrasonic_77Yeah but i think over the years the constant leaking from beta tests has kinda meant its not viable.
I agree that's been an issue, although probably not a major one to be honest. Perhaps I'm being naïve but I wouldn't have thought the limited leaks the last couple of years have negatively affected sales?
A more limited beta with people that could be trusted would still be beneficial IMHO.

You are right about that. Hopefully EA and codies will do that going forward

How do you mean this? I mean, the players in the beta should sign a NDA, and why would a leak from a beta test not make it possible to make a new beta?

Also as a response on other things in the thread, I saw people saying a year without a release shouldn't be happening, but i disagree, I've been thinking for years they should've been doing this.
How i see it isn't, they stop updating the current game, hell why not drop a DLC for 23 season, keep a small team on the previouse game, fixing bugs, but not really adding new stuff, just FIXING, something the serries has needed for years.
I dont see how a company like EA, with the money printer soccer game, wouldn't have the resources to do this.
I saw a video about WRC (could be on the forums here not sure) and about how they changed from a yearly to a release every 2 years and it made the game way better, don't know personally, haven't played it, but 2 year of devolpment is more than 1 year, and wouldn't see how this wouldn't help the F1 series aswell.
