1) larger interval time during battle time
2) single timer for Qualifying
3) AWS prediction
My wishlist! Some will echo what others have posted as well
General Suggestions
- More extensive testing (or an open beta)
- Remove F1 Life and Supercars entirely - unless we're going to see different and not 1st person cutscenes of our player in casual wear, just remove F1 Life entirely
- New game engine (but please extensively test on modern VR headsets such as a Quest 2, as well as including Quest runtime/VR option instead of just SteamVR)
- MyTeam Co-Op so we don't just take over another team. The framework is right there, we just need our own team as an option!
- I don't know why this isn't possible, but let Custom season be well and truly custom. Let us re-order the races how we want in the custom mode
Gameplay Suggestions
- Red flags + formation lap from pit road to the grid (which should also have a skip option), also rolling starts in the Wet
- Manually driving in pit road (pressing a button isn't immersive, actually turning in and out of the box is)
- Better/more talkative engineer (currently when a SC gets deployed, sometimes I don't hear any info about it)
- Better AI behavior when you're on a slow lap and well off line
- Teammate requests: Don't fight, fight, let player pass, let teammate pass - Letting the teammate pass in F2's opener for 2020 if I remember correctly, should be in the main game depending on championship points and/or general pace
- Include "We'll come out in X position if we box now" when using Pit Stop Information
- Include "When did [Driver last name] box," and "When did [Position X] box," and "Where is [Driver Last Name]?" - latter line primarily to use with AI - to better get an idea of strategy

Make different engine modes that you can switch as you like, as it was in F1 18-19, fuel 3 modes and ers 5 modes! In real life, racers often switch engine mode, brake balance, and so on throughout the race. Now it's F1-style NFS, forward, backward, left, right and nitro (in our case it's overtaking). It would be possible to leave this overtake button, but also add various engine operation switches, protecting, for attack, for the warm-up lap and so on
- Meza9943 years agoSeasoned Ace@HaterLOL Engine modes are banned IRL.. its one mode for the whole of qualifying and the race.. ERS deployment rates are changeable IRL but they dont implement that back into the game because they didnt want it back to 20 ERS changes per lap as it was in 2020..
Brake bias is true but they have problems with it anyway and after all its not a sim so you cant truly expect the realism that requires you to change the brake bias for optimum laptime.. - mariohomoh3 years agoHero (Retired)
@HaterLOL Sort-of-but-not-really nitpicking here: yes, we still see race engineers and drivers flipping through different "engine modes", but ever since the regulation change back in 2020 there are no Internal Combustion Engine – ICE mode changes anymore.
There are certain specific scenarios wherein a driver can actually change fuel mix to lean and then back again to "regular" mix, like under SC conditions, but other than that they can switch for leaner mixes mid-race but then cannot get back to richer mixes again.
So the willy-nilly fuel mix changes we used to have in previous titles are incompatible with the sport in its current format.
In the numerous times we see engineers and drivers discussing engine modes, they're most often referring to different ERS settings.
We very often use "engine" as a shorthand for powertrain in F1. Powertrain comprises of:
- ICE
- Energy Store - ES
- Turbocharger
- MGU-H
- MGU-K
So there are still plenty of "engine modes" being changed mid-race... all referring to all those components, except the combustion engine.
TL;DR: No "fuel modes" anymore.
But I totally agree there's plenty of room for the ERS to be revamped. More flexibility, perhaps even custom deployment maps. I wouldn't mark it as a higher priority over other aspects of the handling as a whole though. As in, ERS/engine modes are not the limiting factor in my enjoyment of the game as of now. But that's subjective 👌
