Video link isn't working anymore. Says its Private now. Can stil find it on YT though.
Gotta say. Major disappointment. Looks and sounds like something out of F1 21... and 20. and 19.
Pretty sad really.

@petro1319 Agreed. I know the Miami trailers sole purpose is to market the game and generate as much interest in the game as possible for preorders and entice newcomers, BUT I do feel like it was a very dishonest trailer.
Earlier F1 game trailers usually gave a more honest representation of the game itself consisting of real in-game replay footage edited together featuring visuals and audio that truly reflect the game.
This time however, going by the actual gameplay footage we’ve seen from Alpha Tauri, the screenshots released as well as the McLaren footage we saw too, is vastly different from the Miami trailer.
I know the Miami trailer said the footage was “in-engine”, but it’s very VERY clear that it’s been manipulated and over processed to look more saturated, with better lighting and reflections and most notably with car engine audio that’s been edited over the top to make it sound even better.
To me it’s grossly mis-representing how the game actually looks and sounds with the sole purpose of misleading the potential buyers of the game. It might as well have been one of those awful pre-rendered trailers we see again and again with pumped up visuals that don’t represent the actual gameplay in any way at all. At least earlier F1 game trailers were a lot more of a truer representation but this one comes across as a farce.
I guess we’ll find out for sure when we see more actual gameplay from the YouTubers either today or tomorrow.

- up1003 years agoHero (Retired)@stephensmattlee I'm always wary of "in-engine footage", as it doesn't mean much. Sometimes it could be the exact same as the game, sometimes less so...
For example, I think Team Fortress 2's short film "Expiration Date" could technically qualify as "in-engine footage" as the animation software ran on the Source engine. In fact, Source Filmmaker allows you to capture footage of TF2 just by playing the game
https://youtu.be/GLlLQ3LmZWU - stephensmattlee3 years agoRising Traveler@up100 Yeh I agree. I guess I shouldn’t read too much into the trailer as it is a marketing tool, and in that sense it does a good job. I guess we’ll see for sure how accurate a depiction of the game it is once more gameplay footage comes along.
I just wish developers/publishers wouldn’t do this kind of thing and that they would be forced to showcase a game in a true and accurate way.
I don’t mean to bash the game so much and for the longest time I’ve been a staunch Codies defender given their size to some of the more bigger developers out there and loved what they did with the F1 games year on year. To me it was always a must buy as you felt the passion put into it and you knew the improvements year on year would be worth investing in.
F1 2021 destroyed that enthusiasm I’m sorry to say, as I could see the potential there underneath it all, but every time I try to invest time in the game I just come away feeling disappointed and frustrated with it. What happened to that new improved damage model from the early footage that was absent in the final game? Why did the change the handling so everyone uses “50%” brake bias for every setup? What happened to the classic cars? Where’s the overall polish and lack of bugs 10 months after it’s release?
I really wanted to see more in the way of improvements for F1 22 but from what little new features the game has, how similar it appears to be compared to F1 2021, and from what actual gameplay we’ve seen from the leaks so far it’s certainly not rebuilding that confidence I lost with F1 2021.
I really hope I’m wrong though, and I know the game states “work in progress”, but going by previous games very little changes between the pre-release and the final release bar the updated car models. It feels like all those extra resources everyone said could benefit the game with the EA takeover are yet to show, the only part they have showed is in the games marketing, and not in a positive way.
