Formation lap collision sends you and other car to grid

What happens when the bug occurs? Cars teleported to grid
What do you expect to see? Not being teleported
Whether your fault or not, if there is even the slightest contact between you and another car (or more) on the immersive formation lap, the game sends all of you to the grid in a poorly aligned grid position and you have to wait for the other cars to line up. I've only experienced it in mp but it's probably the same in other modes. This is stupid. Please fix
If you must do something like this, maybe only initiate it if you receive damage on formation lap and then maybe make the damaged car(s) start from the pit lane having been repaired?
