Game Crashing - PC

i swear the game has crashed a total of 40 times, i have updated my pc, graphics drivers, reinstalled the game, verified game files, ran it as administrator. nothing works. stop changing drivers eye colours and fix the issues that actually matter and people care about, for example this crashing. please. i have never known a game crash as much as this one, and its certainly not my pc because it runs everything else just fine. ive even monitored my temps while playing and theyre completely normal

    @ScarDuck14 Nope!

    I finally "fixed the game" and got to throw some hot laps down last night!
    Granted, 5 hours were wasted away of me having to reinstall Windows and re-configure all of my programs and peripherals. In addition I edited some settings regarding full screen optimization from some YouTube videos. So honestly don't know which of those two "fixed" my problem but for future referance, try the easier option first lol. I searched 'f1 22 crash fix' on Google and a few videos came up with persons diving into file settings for the game.

    @MarioIrvin Glad you got it sorted. I’d love a Pc but consoles are just so much easier for old idiots like me.

    But last 2 F1 games I’ve put in about 1400 hours and game had crashed 3 times. Every time it did was because I had either reset screen settings and forgot to turn game mode on then disable other screen settings that game mode keeps active. Or I’ve sat on remote and change screen to cinema and not noticed.

    No dxdiags here to prove my feeling but I'll guess to a man you're all using Nvidia GPUs?

    High (silly) refresh rates crash the game. Old drivers crash the game. Global settings may crash the game. Cards used for mining may crash anyway. GFE can crash the game. Missing VBIOS updates can crash the game or it blackscreens. DLSS mismatches can crash the game.

    DDU can help with bad driver installs. Reinstalling Windows clears endless cruft. If you're taking that step, update your mainboard (and AMD CPU update your mainboard drivers). Don't use Insider Builds. Check temps, check storage, benchmark (Guru3D has pretty good published results for a lot of hardware).

    Anecdotally, F1 2021 beta I ran RX580 and RX5700XT without issue. I ran a GTX1060 and got pretty consistent EGO Dumper. Same PC in every other way. Card was fine (benchmarked in testing suites), got resold.

    So, use high enough preset settings, consider a framecap on top of that. Game probably runs manageably on 10/16/20 series. High end 20 or 30, just watch your settings.

  • Someone could help Us! i have the same problem, when i am playing, after 4 or 5 laps the game crashing, i reinstall the game, reinstall windows, update all drivers that you can imagine exists, and nothing works.
