PC 'crossplay' aside, this year's game seems to have about the same level of launch bugs as last year's to me. Arguably both came out too early but the simple solution from the player perspective is to stop pre-ordering games. And I mean in general from all games developers, not just F1 games. It's a weird modern practice that never used to be 'a thing' and only encourages this to keep happening.
Im still feel smug😁🙄 as I must have only been the only person last year… that after one first week issue that @Ultrasonic_77 Actually helped solve. Without help from cm. I never had another problem in over 900 hours off gameplay. First actual game crash I had was in the last few hours I played 2021. But I put that down to the fact I had turned rest mode on.
So far F1 22 I’ve had one in game freeze in 30 hours. Of play. 🤬
But @Dan78loki I feel you. As last years game release was the first time i started posting on cm forum and I asked the very same question. And got the same replies you have 😔

I bought 20 and 21 on ps5 and I don't remember not being able to use the pad and waiting for a patch to play. I consider that definitely a dropped ball

EA has considerably got worse over the years.
They are moving their teams further and further east, outsourcing alot of their testing which therefore huge gaps in requirement testing gets missed out due to language barriers.
Their support team is on another level of incompetence. They have no idea what to do/say/how to fix issue.
Their marketing team is formed from graduates who have little to no verification checks on what they're told, hence the whole world were sold cross play, and also weren't made aware that PC (Steam and Origin) are their own entities.
In F1 22 they have release an unplayable broken game in regards to cross play, and have lied to the world.
Another perfect example is 2042, the worst con in the world of game more than likely.

Crossplay wasn't mis-sold as it was made very clear pre-launch that this would not be present in the game at launch. What was NOT clear was that Steam and Origin players wouldn't be able to play together.
