General AI Level
Question: Is it just me or is anyone else having to run the AI level much lower than the previous games ? On last year's game I was running the game on 90% difficulty and now I m struggling on 70% ...
Grand Prix Mode
I run with like No Assist - Only Traction Control on Medium - Manual Shift the Whole 9 Yards and last year I was running 90% on a Good day and 85% with slower Cars and Carear mode.
This year honestly 70% and if I m in a Mercedes or lower than the Podium is out of reach.
The F2 Cars roughly 0.400 seconds a Lap faster than the rest of the field but it's challenging.
It's like EA ha e just made the game silly Difficult and there is No way I m putting the AI down past 70% for my own sanity.
I m a Leauge Racer for Christ sake with a YouTube channel - it wouldn't be good for my Street Cred lol
@scrappyusa
I should have said I was doing level 85 last year, so I think I should be about the same this year if you go by My team performance on 92 in the first race
But in GP mode, I have a theory on that, not everyone agrees. But I don't think the AI on GP mode are being affected, as they should be on tyre wear.
Take a look here. https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Tyre-wear-barley-affects-AI/m-p/11824364/highlight/true#M7021
Edit 82 not 92
Ok that makes me feel slightly better.
There was me thinking I was loosing it LOL
I had a quick look at your Link of Tests in Hungary - Took me a second because I thought you was racing as Mad Max for a minute - then I saw the Two Haas cars were highlighted.
I cannot for the life of me sort out Setups - One day I sat there watched Hours of YouTube Tutorials , read up on set ups , spent hours tinkering only for the set ups to be worse than the Default set ups and eit tyres faster than snacks in the Cool down room.
So after that day I completely gave up on set ups and only use other people's that have a wheel in Time Trail mode.
That's just my feelings after doing 3 full GP seasons in different cars. Noting official. I can say with certainty on this year's games it's probably not advisable to copy a time trail set-up as they aren't affected by tyre temps in time trail, and are a massive thing in this year's game when racing. But there are other places you can find race set-ups for. Just make sure they're post patch 1.06.

Wheel settings might be worth a check, but as I use a controller I have no advice on that.
I've just added some more context to my findings on the link I shared about tyre wear.
Finally have enough wet/ dry races on 1.10 to really comment.
In the wet the AI needs to drop about 5 to keep a similar pace to dry, this is based on full assists except steering and changing brake and differential in the wet. 3 races, and compared to pace to leader, car infront and behind. 50% race distance.
When I first played under 1.07 the AI seemed balanced everywhere, now it is off qualifying to race at some tracks, needs to lowered at street courses and Hungary and is off in the wet.
