I just cannot see it as a selling point for the franchise with the current tacked on implemention. And knowing how tight they strap their belts, I do not want to see they pouring the necessary dev time to bring this feature to a noteworthy level.
Braking Point has more potential than this. Specially when you can basically offload to a partnered studio to run the script, instead of spreading the same game engine blanket to accomodate F1, F2 and supercars.

@ScarDuck14Same, and I'd love to extend that question to supercars too.

It's interesting because the survey EA sent out to people about the game was pretty much focused on how you were influenced to buy the game questions such as "were you influenced by a youtuber to buy the game etc" and a lot of the questions where about marketing.
The survey didn't ask me any real questions about hardcore F1 stuff, or technical aspects, driving etc, it was entirely focused on fluff features and what marketing essentially should be used in future.
Hardly bodes well for the future going by the survey, as someone with a lot of years in board meetings it most definitely read like the old classic of tailoring the questions to steer the answers they want for the direction the board has already chosen
- mariohomoh4 years agoHero (Retired)@FG44141 To be fair, it's fairly ordinary to have theses "sliced" surveys focused on specific aspects of a product. More even so if it is a new feature.
Doesn't necessarily mean that will be or become one of their focus points going forward.
I'm still worried about it for all the reasons I mentioned before, but a survey like this doesn't feel like a band omen to me. And on the same stroke, we're getting DLC tracks for free, got David Greco a greenlight to push the handling model to a more realistic form and so on... Haha this franchise is all over the place, isn't it?- 4 years ago
we're getting DLC tracks for free, got David Greco a greenlight to push the handling model to a more realistic form and so on... Haha this franchise is all over the place, isn't it?True it is more all over the place than it has ever been, but as long as there is people passionate like us there is still always a chance to keep it in the right direction.
DLC tracks and pushing the handling model is exactly where I want it to be, so if they keep in that direction things will work themselves out, of all the years being in sim chats and in leagues it was always the call for more tracks and advanced handling that always came up in the conversations first, so in that respect they are hitting the right marks despite a few misses
Now that Portimao is confirmed for tomorrow and their twitter post also says china coming soon, I hope there might be another DLC track before the end of the year, maybe something unexpected, I would rather dev time was spent on things like that than a sofa or a hilariously cheesy story mode
- 4 years ago@mariohomoh It's a game that's really becoming a love/hate stuff. So many things going right...Soooo many things going wrong too. We'll get there one day hahahahaha

Absolutely not, I couldn't care less whether F1 Life is there or not.
On top of that, whoever thought that progressively getting rid of classic cars to add supercars was a good idea is baffling me, I am ignoring supercars as well. - 4 years ago
Never used it. Got no interest. Don't use the super cars either despite constant alerts telling me I have a token. Skip them in career.
EA has a habit of doing things like this though. They don't want to spend the money on building a new game, and the current games are riddled with so many bugs that they can't really change anything without crippling it, so they add on weird little frills that nobody really wants and market that. They've just done it with FIFA 23. The game is broken but now you can buy your player a pedal bike you can do nothing with.

I could see spending pit coins on new pitcrew clothing and helmets, polos for team personnel, and caps separate from race suits. But not what they gave us.
