Grip Calibration problem
Game: F1 2022 Platform: Steam I have observed with other players that there could be an error in the grip calibration for different players and platforms. It has been empirically verified that us...
Could you provide some links to evidence to support what you are claiming?
Off the top of my head my first thoughts are to wonder about tyre temperature differences, tyre model selected, or the sad possibility of some players using cheats.
Ok, i will try showing some exemples by youtube. As tyre model what do you mean? If I am usong soft or hard tyres?. The tyre temperature is not possible because i see the differences playing in time trial mode (the tyre temperature doesn't affect)
@rolfisicasBy that you mean YouTube videos from the same players driving on the same settings and same hardware?
Well first thing should be to verify if said player can deliver 2-3 laps on the same ballpark before jumping to a different platform 😅
Consistency is a skill and the number of players who can get it tight is very low.
Other than that, yes pretty much everything you mentioned can play a (huge) factor on performance.
Comparing yourself to a Youtuber playing the game on high end gear isn't really feasible. The skill ceiling in these games is very high.
Edit: what @ScarDuck14 mentions (gear selection) falls in the player input category, by the way. If you're not applying the same technique than your benchmark, you shouldn't expect similar results.
Racing line, braking technique, throttle application, shortshifting, downshifting (as it impacts engine braking), etc etc
Generally speaking you can only account for your own lap times. And if you cannot already deliver consistent laptimes on a given platform with all the settings and hardware you're already familiar with, I'd be wary of questioning if the game is the "same" on a different one.

This won't matter if you're looking in Time Trial, but the tyre setting I was referring to is an option in Simulation Settings where you can switch the Tyre Temperature between Surface & Carcass or Surfaces Only (but only if using the Expert Race Style - this option doesn't show otherwise).
Which two platforms did you go between? Were you using the same assist settings? And how did it feel for you going between the two? As in did you notice a particular way one felt different to the other?
@mariohomoh 's point about consistency is also a good one, particularly if you're using a different controller or wheel on each platform?
