I have observed with other players that there could be an error in the grip calibration for different players and platforms. It has been empirically verified that using the same setup, the same car under equal conditions, different grips are obtained in the car. These differences can be up to 4 seconds per lap. How is it possible? What does it depend on for one player to experience more adherence than another under equal conditions? the platform?, the hardware? internet speed? This issue is quite serious as these differences in grip indicate that the parameters used in the car are not properly calibrated. Is there any explanation to this problem in F1 2022 game?
I don't know where to start to check my pc, what could I check that would influence the grip of the game? I've tried everything, steering wheel settings, running in high gears and I still get within 2.5 - 3 seconds of the best times in time trials. It's very curious because with the same set up, to enter a corner correctly I have to brake more. On the other hand, other people with the same set up are able to enter the corner faster. I think that grip is the reason of that.
Here we have the proof of same setup used by limitless in spa with F1 2022 hot lap, as an example. As you can see nearly same position entering the curve, same speed, same brake point...as you see i cant turn as well as limitless do. I even turn the wheel more than him with less speed but car not responding...
You're inducing understeer by increasing the steering lock while being hard on the brakes. By "turning the wheel more", you're actually making it worse.
Number 1 countermeasure against understeer on most cases is actually to open up the steering wheel.
You understeer because you're demanding too much of the front tyres (braking+steering). You need to ask less of them so that they can bite up again and rotate the car properly.
So ease off the brakes, shift the BB backwards, and open the steering.
And as we've said previously, the skill ceiling is very high in these games. Even more so on a game with not the best FFB on the market. You should not be comparing yourself against other drivers if you want to make it a point that the grip levels are different across different platforms.
Edit: editing to make it clearer.
Grip is like a budget for how much work tyres can do. When you exceed said budget on any given tyre, it will break traction on that axle.
Exceed the grip your front tyres have and you'll understeer.
Exceed the grip your rear tyres have and you'll oversteer.
Basically, that's it.
Steering is fun in how it works. There's this thing called slip angle, which is the difference between where your front wheels are pointing to, to where your car is actually going. There is always some degree of slip angle, even when you're way within your grip budget.
When you understeer, that slip angles increases a lot. So much so that the front tyres get worse at their steering task. There's an optimal slip angle range your tyres need to be to be at their best.
So if you exceed your front tyres grip and get into understeering, you need to ask less of them AND to close down that slip angle so that it gets back to full steering capability.
Keeping so hard on the brakes will make it tougher for the front to bite again. Keeping it hard on the brakes AND increasing the slip angle by turning the steering wheel even more will just compound the mistake.
I did that way to proof that i can touch the Vertex of the curve at same speed as limitless for example. I need to brake before to kiss It, so i lose speed in curves...
