Let’s say a developer joins in the discussion on a suggestion thread and comments that he likes someone’s suggestion. That then gets implemented into the game. It leaves the door open for the person who made the original suggestion wanting a cash reward that could end up in court. If the court no matter how unlikely accepts the developer has used somebody’s idea and orders said to developer to hand over a few million. It will open Pandora’s box. So they stay well away from suggestion threads.
We only get to hear from the developers in interviews and Q&A sessions once the game is pretty much finished and they will only talk about that game and their own ideas for future games may have or haven’t got

Sure, but this is seems very unlikely It’s a lot of ‘if by some miracle this happens, and this also somehow happens whilst simultaneously this crazy things happens, then we might get [insert here] scenario.’
Besides, like you said, can’t they just say ‘any ideas suggested on our forums cannot be claimed for money.’
There’s nothing stopping them do that.
I don’t think anyone here is putting in ideas hoping to make a cash reward out of it, even if by some miracle (as you alluded to) the chance does arise.
- @Radoko34 As you’ve pointed out before. EA is a US based company. What do Americans do more than the rest of the world combined? They sue each other for monetary gain.
So to my point, now it’s even more unlikely for people to do the whole suing thing because they have to be American.
@Radoko34No it’s the mindset of American companies to protect themselves from being sued. Is not giving any reason for someone to try.
But you’re still missing the point they have no obligation to talk to us. They know what the community wants. Why waste time and effort engaging with us when they don’t have to. Take David’s Q&A for instance. David was very forthcoming in his engagement. And still people posted abusive posts.
