The YouTubers who particularly specialise in the F1 games are in a tricky spot. They rely on people watching their content for a living and so they suffer personally if the criticise the game to the extent that it reduces overall interest in the game since it will inevitably also decrease interest in their content. Pivoting to playing other games can obviously counteract this to a degree butt they're still bound to lose part of their audience. All the main YouTubers are regularly negative about the game in different ways but I totally understand and respect that there are limits to how far they'd go.
For a little balance I'll say I've just enjoyed spending about an hour driving round Jeddah in time trial, relearning a track I haven't driven for ages. Actually racing that track isn't so great due to the overtaking challenge but I do like it in TT, with cockpit cam adding notably to the sense of speed I think for those who haven't tried it. It also looks decent at the dusk time setting I chose. If I was being picky it would have been nice is the rival ghost 'cars' had had bodies rather than just wheels but we can't have everything!

@ScarDuck14Its as you said, Opmeer is in a better position to be vocal about the flaws.. But i have little faith of things changing..
There are so many easy changes that would help it, changes that are very logically the problem of the current game like what was said pre release that the tires will lose grip faster than previously (not because of wear) because of the differently build tyre (sidewall etc.) which probably went a little overboard again just like in 2021 the rear stability which went too low, 2019 the understeer which went too far..
Its almost like each year of bigger changes the handling model goes a step too far in the direction F1 and experts expect it to go, which is understandable but maybe they should go more carefully about such things in the future, handling changes dont have those extreme consequences since the high downforce era at least compared to whats expected, teams are too good now..- @Meza994 I’ve said many a time. That the devs go from one extreme to another. It’s like they slide the slider from max to min. Just find the middle for crying out loud

Something interesting though - in the comments under opmeers video they are talking about the whole cheating stuff and im not gonna comment on the cheating itself, its not my business and we all should have the same opinion on competitive cheating..
However i find it interesting that the comments claim 0.015% more grip to be the difference.. Yet thats hardly believable.. 2% grip difference (between 2 tyre compounds in the game) are about 6 tenths.. so 0.015% would equal 0.018s more pace.. i will test it quickly maybe the different stability will change things more but again if those numbers are really the difference it wont explain the supposed 2 tenths.. However cheating is sitll cheating..
Just a curious observation haha @Meza994They don’t know for sure it’s the 0.015. I think it’s because it’s one of the cheats that is available in the cheat store. There were others 0.020 I think etc

I haven’t got to the comments yet. But he’s quite obviously fuming at the end of the video. He cut the audio from him sitting behind the wheel but you can clearly see he’s angry
@ScarDuck14Of course he is angry at cheating people, it makes sense..
However mathematically even 0.02% wouldnt make that difference but quick testing (not 100% reliable though cause i didnt wanna spend too much time) showed at least 1-1.5 tenths because it just felt a little more stable.. didnt expect it to actually feel like that with such a tiny difference and might have been placebo as i only did 3 laps without the "grip" and 2 laps with the "grip" but still.. Scientifically its really interesting.. Sports wise disgusting..Btw. i think i got my maths wrong lol would be a way smaller gain in laptime just in theory.. Anyway doesnt matter too much lol
@Meza994It's been suggested that the cheat is a 2% grip increase, not sure where that person who made the comment came up with that number. Apparently the cheat is more pronounced in FP1 when track grip levels are low but it's less evident in FP3 when the track is rubbered in.
Edit: You've done the testing.
There's a few videos out there showing comparison minimum corner speed that shouldn't really be achievable with low wings.
Anyway, not meaning to derail this thread...

The confusion might be because of the way grip is calculated ingame.. Its based on 1.00 as maximum grip, not 100% so 0.02 would be 2% grip difference, probably somebody mixing up total numbers and percentages - @Meza994 Yes, you're right regarding the percentages and numbers. Coders vs normies 😂

Do you mean at the start of the video? What Jarno says there is, "I might really like next year's game". So just being open the possibility rather than basing it on any particular insight I think.

Yeah, Jarno sounds absolutely fed up with the game.
I hope EA/CM see the danger in having ESports drivers vocally spreading hate for the game. Particularly when the reason these guys got into ESports is because they used to love the game, and they’re super passionate for it.
It says it all when even these people (arguably some of the most passionate followers/players of the game) are making clear their dissatisfaction for the game.Jarno mentions how he has to drag himself to play the game now, which is something that he has never said about any F1 game before. Sooner or later the ESports drivers and big content creators are going to grow totally sick and tired of the game (which tbh, a lot of them already have - at least the ones that have expressed this very vocally) and it’s will NOT reflect well on the game at all.
The Esports drivers are arguably some of the people who used to be passionate for the game the most, and it says so much when even them are hating it now, like Jarno.
- @Radoko34 He said he has to drag himself to practice for league racing. Or something to that effect. He then said he will still post his Co-op and My team videos. So in effect he’s had enough off competitive play until the cheating controversy gets sorted

Although the danger still remains there to EA/CM, that their game gets more and more vocally disliked by content creators and esports drivers alike. Because, there are many, many content creators now beginning to make clear their dissatisfaction for the game.
Alex Gillon, Tiametmarduk, aarava, and a LOT more.
In general chatter amongst these bigger content creators, it’s clear that they now just take the mickey out of the game.Hence this thread.
