I just sit on my sofa when using my wheel, with a cushion behind me so I'm fairly upright. Not exactly a proper sim rig I know 🙂.
The DualSense Edge is pricey but will still be cheaper than a wheel, particularly once a stand is factored in too (guessing you play in your lounge like I do @ScarDuck14 , rather than somewhere with a desk?) Personally I'd still suggest going for a wheel given how much time you spend on the F1 games though. I'm sure you'd ultimately enjoy it more.

If it works, it works! Convenience and space is also part of the decision making. I use a gaming rocking chair. Folds up and is hidden away. My wife wouldn't be too happy if I had a full rig
