Solved

I have a pad/wheel dilemma

Was seriously thinking about getting a dual sense edge.  As I need a new pad and with the different stick lengths will make steering more precise.  But at a cost around £210.  It’s abit pricey especially as a new thrustmaster wheel (not sure which model) is £300

I don’t know what to do….  Wonder if @DavidG53  would let me use his Thrustmaster discount card 😁😂😎

  • Bite the bullet and get a wheel if you're going to spend wedge to play racing games. Far more enjoyable. But you'll have to shell out for a stand and a seat but I'll never go back to pad for racing, it's so clunky with limited consistency

@Ultrasonic_77 Leaning towards wheel. But don’t want to spend £300+. 🤷‍♂️

As it’s my birthday today… am thinking off spoiling myself

(You could look out for a second hand wheel? If I ever made the switch to a DD wheel I'd be looking to sell mine on and I'm sure others must too.)

Happy Birthday! Hope it's been a good one so far.

You could always do it in installments with Amazon? Pick up an entry level wheel, G29 or the better rated Thrustmaster 248. The G29 series allow for you to keep under the budget and also get a stand. A few five star rated stands at £120 (GT omega) which can be picked up on eBay for nearly half the price. Or do as @Ultrasonic_77 suggested and pick up second hand. I'd just avoid any that has been used for drifting 😅

I wonder what you found? My interest has piqued 🤔

Can't remember quite what I found but flimsier looking examples with much more of a curved base to 'rock' rather more. Plus I note you say you use a support to stop it rocking 🙂.

Haha, I know which ones you're talking about, they're almost orthopaedic tools! I simply have have a a wooden block and I end up in a reclined position. It's almost like being sat in a cockpit, a bit more immersive. I used to have it against a footstool, so you could push it up against the sofa as an option. I suppose sitting on the sofa you could transition from gaming position to sleeping position, something that I'm doing a lot just watching television these days.😪

@TotosHeadphones I’m in danger of falling asleep on the sofa watching Super Bowl. 10 seconds off action followed by 10 minutes off talking about it

@ScarDuck14 Not gonna lie. American sports broadcasting is... Odd.
On a not so different note, it's like how people living in mega cities like Sao Paulo normalizing spending 3-4h on a daily commute.

@mariohomoh That is crazy. From where I live it’s generally a 2 hour commute. But know people that have longer
  • Thanks to the Breaking into something Good ad I found out that this Super Bowl is happening soon.))
