It was a shock for the entire league racing Community and even casual players.
Telling us that we can't play together with different launchers on PC is something no one could have expected. The Steam website already said that you need a third party (EA account). We even had to register ourselves on Origin when starting the game on Steam (except those with beta access).
Now friends and league racers can't play together after buying the game. I guess the majority bought the game on steam, but a lot of people probably also play the game on Origin because of game keys and EA Play Pro that are now excluded.
Giving an approximate time frame would be fantastic to organise our leagues. The timely outcome can't be that we play separately on PC.
