Internet connection taken down by F1 game

It does sound the router/modem cant handle the load of the game but could also be the wire in the wall etc.

I did check the guide but sadly nothing helped, I have a wired connection using Devolo CPL.

I don't think the problem comes from the modem since a complete shutdown of my computer is the only workaround I found. Also, nobody else in the house has connectivity issues and I only experience it on my computer when it happens.

Hi @Hawx32, I can recommend not to use Devolo CPL. it really does affect speed and stability as you are at the mercy of the cooper wire in the walls. Myself tried at one point and was not a great experience. I understand its not always easy to drag a cable a cross a house and fair bit work to make it look good.

If you do have network cable to connect with I recommend testing with it.

Sadly @EA_Atic it really isn't possible for me to use a direct cable. 

But with my current setup I get the same speed as if I was directly connected to my box, I did compare the speed with a laptop directly on the modem.

As for stability there really isn't any other program that has issues with internet, it only happens when I play the F1 game for a while. 

@EA_Atic I could try with my phone, but since the issue doesn't happen every time it will be hard to know if that fixes it or if it just didn't happen this time. I'll try for a few days and see what happens.

Hello @EA_Atic, I've been playing for a few days through my phone, first with wifi to be sure it wasn't the devolo, then with 4G, and both caused the same connection loss problem. I can also say time doesn't seem to have anything to do with it as I've had internet loss in the afternoon or early evening (right before this message) as well.

@Hawx32I have had this Problem since a week ago, and all my troubleshooting doesnt help me, I have a realtek ethernet adapter and it seems to be an issue with the adapter itself shutting down into energy saving mode or sleep mode when in F1. I have to restart my pc and turn the adapter off and back on then it works again.

So my suggestion is to try to go into device manager and disable energy management by the pc and all the green and power saving things.

@halofan111 But I had this problem connected through USB with my phone, would that use the ethernet chip ? If so, energy saving could be the issue. I haven't played the game much lately so I haven't tried anything else, but I'll try to see if that helps next time ! I have an Intel i211 controller myself though not a realtek one.

Did you already try doing it yourself and did it change anything ?
