A glance at the Codemasters forum from around launch time would show plenty of negative feedback!
I get that Codemasters like the idea and it may well have helped to attract new players (I've no idea) but to suggest Braking Point was universally popular is nonsense.

@Ultrasonic_77 Difficult to say based on these forums. Sometimes we seem to think us "hardcore fans" writing in forums represent the majority of players, but what do we know about all those millions (or whatever is the correct number of sold copies) of players and their opinions and feedback to Codies?

I agree this seems to be a trend in many things nowadays. New things all the time and losing interest quickly. Maybe Braking Point was perfect for these type of players?
