Depends how you play.
I play on Xbox One and I only play My Team and near full assists (not steering, DRS or ERS) and I find the game very fun and enjoyable. The AI for me is 73 at most circuits (Monaco, Singapore and Azerbaijan) seem to be 68 and the AI is roughly the same in wet and dry. The AI is a bit more creative with tyre choices and pit strategy but still not as much as you’d think they should be.
The game occasionally fails to auto-save, so I have to restart the console and redo a session or factory period. The AI seems to have more grip out of slow corners but the straight line speed advantage in my games no longer exists.
Overall, the game is currently very satisfying to me. I’d like them to add a few options to protect against future patch foul ups (like custom weather in My Team and/or the ability to change AI mid session) and I still get driver transfers mid season that make no sense to me (I started a new game after a corrupted save so my next first season transfer is in a race’s time so we’ll se what happens) but otherwise I can say I’m pleased.
Not saying the game is perfect in my mind, lot’s of things I could add that are more quality of life things, but I’m quite happy.
Many thanks for the reply.
I mainly play My Team or career with some assists on.
Are you finding you are racing at the same ai level as in F1 21 or previous or have you had to adjust for this years game?
- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend@s800tar Some have hadt to low ai difficulty by 20.
But ai isn’t consistent race to race. Short tight tracks and street circuits favour ai faster tracks favour humans- 3 years ago@ScarDuck14 Aaah that’s frustrating! I am not into amending ai from race to race.
Actually considered going back to 21 but just remembered there was some sort of bug that messed up the car and made it worse when development was maxed out. Any idea if this was ever patched/fixed?- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend@s800tar I’ve put in over 900 hours into 2021 myteam. I’ve played every which way. First Max out weight reduction and drag. Then distribution and downforce and drs. Tyres whenever you get chance. But only upgrade powertrain… Engine and ERS when you have to. Don’t bother upgrading brakes to last and only upgrade a major and minor brake upgrade. Weight reduction massively helps braking anyway.
I found upgrading the ultimate engine and ers make the car a pain to manage. And was actually faster without them:
