Joined online session during one-shot qualifying, couldn't participate in race

Summarize your bug I joined a session with about 10 cars qualifying. This usually means that I'll get a seat as I'm in long before the "Qualifying Results" screen and the grid. I waited, when, suddenly I see a full grid (it wasnt shown in the lobby, or in messages while spectating that *someone* joined)

How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
Did you have cross-play enabled? No
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Join a session during one-shot qualifying with about 10 cars qualifying. After you have joined, have more people join. If you do not get a place on the grid but have not seen people joining after you (which should not matter anyway), that's it.
What happens when the bug occurs? I don't get a car even though I should
What do you expect to see? Working multiplayer with which I can actually complete the "series" challenges when lobbies for Miami and Azerbaijan are rare.
