@Hempyjrthe game doesn’t force you to pick drivers that you deem unrealistic. So why does it matter?
I am a strict believer in equality but also hate equality off outcome. Cream rises to the top. And I firmly believe that only Best person for the job should get the job regardless off sex/race/faith etc.
However this is a game first and foremost and should have license to bend reality
as great as this is and i agree, i cant help but ask if we can get the game actually playable in single player before we start adding in * that wont make a difference in 1 week.

It's a game, but it supposed to be a game based on reality, not with finctional caracters, don't get me wrong, but when it's based on reality, i expect them to work towards that, to eliminate bugs and to develop new features based on reality. Instead dedicate hours of work to develop fictional caracters like Jarno or others from esports or females which they have nothing to do with real F1, maybe they should work harder to bring other F1 drivers from the past, at least they were in F1.
It's a game and if we want to keep it realistic as possible we shouldn't be playing it as none of us have ever driven in F3; F2 or F1. Still every year we keep popping up on the grid, I even won already more championships than Hamilton.
Most of the F3 and F2 drivers in the game will never make it to F1 so the argument is really moot. Adding female drivers to the pool does not do away with the reality created today in the videogame.
If they added sofas and rugs, I don't buy the "focus" argument anymore. Plus eSports drivers.
Just add in a bunch of female models, fictional or not. No need to stick with the license route either if Formula W doesn't play ball, there are plenty female drivers on motorsports.
"I'd rather Codemasters..." well the franchise isn't getting back on keel anytime soon and a quick pit stop to add women to the roster ain't breaking none of it.

It's not unrealistic to include female drivers (even fictional) when the developers think "icons" are a great thing when most of them are either too old, or not even with us anymore. I am sorry but I would never drive as, or hire MSC or the late great Ayrton. Where does it stop? Let's give upcoming young drivers the chance to feature in the game, men AND women. I mean what's the chance Codies will include Lella Lombardi in the icons section LMFAO. No chance which actually shines a light on the duplicity of the franchise regarding realism v fantasy.
Tatiana made an appearance in 2020, and it was a nice refreshing surprise, it was a pity we couldn't play as her but there were mods for this. But ever since females in motorsport have been completely ignored "realism" again? tsk tsk.
Come on Codies, I hope by F1 23, the current direction with FIA involvement in W Series, the F1 team ambassadors from the W Series THIS YEAR will get a look in in F1 23, would be just amazing to get into MyTeam and "Whoa, hire Jamie Chadwick?????" or Marta Garcia, Emma Kimilainen, Jessica Hawkins, Alice Powell etc etc. I think Calderon is still attached or associated with Alpha Romeo right, Chadwick with Williams, Hawkins with Aston Martin, so I really hope to see something for MyTeam in 23 it's just whether the developers are actually brave enough or would even want to. But hey, that's my opinion and no-one from the devs has commented or shown any interest or support so what are we supposed to think?

Google F1 female drivers: Maria Teresa de Fillipis (1958) and Lella Lombardi (1975-76). Both participated in F1 GP races.

@BinkyStrider I will always support equality but no way will I ever go along with the whole male patriarchy conspiracy. It doesn’t exist. us men look as though we just sit around scratching our backsides all day and being stupid. But feminists seriously underestimate mens strengths.
I edited my original comment above I think I got a bit too heated and on second thoughts sounded very unfair. But yes we can discuss that in the past when racing cars were favourable to anyone there were the occasional female F1 driver, but it's very rare and these days you need to be totally an athlete to handle a 1000 bhp beast.
I am also in favour of a womens only F1, even if the cars are a nerfed version, because the opportunities it would give for young women in motorsport having their own complete series would be a big win. I don't think there has been such an exciting time for motorsport as people switch on to F1, W Series, Indiecar and NASCAR or even taking interest in karting. All of which have supported and featured talented women drivers.
I think the executives of the FIA need to make a firm decision, do you want to segregate, or not. Make your minds up. Personally and it's only my opinion, as a fan who follows many motorsports especially W Series right now, a W Series F2 and F1 wouldn't be a bad thing like I stated above for women in motorsports, it would grow overtime, such as the support for womens football, on the global stage, as part of the main F1 event and help springboard so many careers and bring so much entertainment to us fans allowing young men in the academies trying to work their way up to F1 have a better chance for one of those coveted seats at the top.

Its understandable to get heated. Its obviously an important issue for you.
I thought at a time Sophia Floersch might make it. Maybe still can. She was very lucky to be still alive after that terrible
incident at Macau.
Hopefully some female content will appear in the games at some stage in the future.
In regards to females in real F1 in current trim:
The G Forces can be strong. A female would need to be at peak physicailty. Its a harder challenge for the girls. Hopefully some will overcome
this barrier.

If you consider also female drivers, which participated but did not qualify, I recall Giovanna Amati (1992).
Female Icons would be a solution, yes.W-Series also
